Thinking about today im wondering which game we have left this year is the most important. After the bye were playing the Packers who most people consider the #1 offense/passing offense and this could prove how good or bad our passing defense is. We got @ Pats which winning could very well give us the division. Got Miami another statement game Then finally @ Steelers. Rex and quite a few of our players have a bitter history with these guys, and id say its a virtual guarentee that any path to the superbowl will require going through them. Not to mention this will show us more about Sanchezs progression than any other regular season game by far this year.
Originally I thought that but I dont know. The pats have a really fucking difficult schedule coming up. Vikings, Colts, Packers, Steelers, Chargers. Especially since the Chargers/Vikings are the next 2 weeks and I feel that both thos teams are INCREDIBLY desperate right now.
The Pats may have a hard run coming up but if we beat them they're probably two games back and the tiebreaker. Lets do this ourselves.
Divisional games. The other games should be wins. Its going to come down to tiebreakers if the Pats continue to finish games the way they do.
Those are some tough games but these are the same Pats that beat the Ravens (who the Jets couldn't beat @ home). Unless Favre & Moss start clicking, I'm expecting the Steeler game to be their only loss in that stretch. Vikes = off year. Moss helps but their O-Line (& Favre) just isn't as good as last year. Colt = Belicheck will be able to slow Manning down. Packers = off year. Some big injuries & no running game. Chargers = off year. Probably the worst special teams in the league. Those were 4 teams last year that made it to the playoffs & made some noise. Not this season & wouldn't be surprised if the Colts were the only playoff team from the 4 listed above. However, the Steelers are just going to be really hard for both the Jets & Pats.
It will all become obvious when we get to those games. Right now I agree with those saying it is Green Bay.
In early May I predicted a 6-1 start, so probably looking most for a win over the Packers, then I can up that thread and revel in the glory of my rightness.
I think it is too early for a single game to be the most important. Too many things can happen over the next 6 weeks to pick out a single game.
We are only 6 games in, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are in a great position but there's alot of work to be done.
Sucks to be Green Bay. First you get Miami coming off the bye, then Minny (a division game) then travel to NY for a second team coming off the bye.
If the Pats win next week, there's a tie for 1st place, that may continue. the answer is pretty clear.
Technically the correct answer is Green Bay. (If the Jets run the table then no one game means any more than another) Having said that, the NE contest looms as an early playoff game. We lost the third tie breaker yesterday with the Pats win over the Ravens. If we lose at Foxboro we will have lost the first tie breaker as well. Leaving only the second tiebreaker (division record) in the event we end up tied with NE at season's end. So yah a win in Foxboro would assure we get the nod in the event of a tie. That's the biggest game on the schedule from that POV.
