WhiteShoe - great on-point original analysis. I can stomach 1 of 2 passes near the 2 minute. Sanchez' hiking the ball too early and not getting the clock to the 2 mins by play completion is the bi brain fart. Let's hope he learns - all signs indicate him to be a quick learner.
great stuff. I will say, tho, that on that 30-yard Peterson run, it looked to me like Eric SMith was held and would have made the play otherwise.
"Clearly it was a struggle for Sanchez, especially after a decent first half. Overall, he completed less than 50% of his passes, although several of his incompletions could have been caught. Despite this, he led the Jets to a win, showed unexpectedly bold composure in driving the team through a monsoon at the end of the first half and made yet another clutch throw to Santonio Holmes to help ice the game. In some respects, that makes this performance more impressive than the last few where he performed so effortlessly well." I actually think that is a good observation, that 11 yard first down pass to Holmes made the Vikings burn their last time out. Despite the clock management issues the Vikings got the ball with about 1:50 on the clock, no timeouts. Insert Lowery TD here. That final second half drive was huge, Sanchez accounted for 47 of the 50 yards gained he a insane downpour. We had the ball at the 4, no timeouts would've been nice to get 7 but 3 was still good considering the conditions.
also remember holmes dropped a 40 yard bomb for a TD, we had about 6 dropped balls i counted in the game, and also cochery should have had a TD, he was blatantly interfered with in the end zone at the end of the half and it was a no-call that cost us 3 more shots at the end zone form the 1. instead we had to take a FG sanchez stats could have easily had an extra 70-100 yards, 6 completions, and 2 TDs more if not for the mistakes. sanchez played very good and other then the 1 bad throw that almost git picked didn't make any mistakes. With that said i was disappointed in keller, he really didn't do much at all and disappointed at cochery all year. he's dropped more passes this year then the last 2 years combined and really hasn't played well at all. more and more i wanna trade cochery and keep holmes and edwards
If LT has that carry, It's a score. Shonn dove to the left of the FB over the pile. Between where TRich dove and where Keller had driven his man off the LoS, there was a hole bigger than the Lincoln Tunnel, and the Safety was crashing down towards the Line/Hole but would not have been able to change direction to make the play.
heh - every time I post these things at least one person tries to give me credit for doing the analysis. I guess I should be more clear when I create the thread that this was taken from theJetsBlog.com.
Sanchez has always been clutch. That's what I love about him the most, he comes up big in important situations. The 4th quarter TD pass to Keller on 3rd down in SD last year is an example.
