Revis said he will have hamstring re-examined later today. Said swelling and pain more than he expected. Unsure of status for Denver game.

    janesports Jane McManus
Darrelle Revis is still hurt. Said he felt it from the first Q on. Not sure he'll play vs. Denver. #jets

#Jets Revis said he didn't feel right in 1st quarter: "Some plays it hurt. Some plays it didn't." #nfl #nyj

Hopefully the Bye week cures this.

I'm fucking shocked. Sit him until after the bye, surely a couple weeks off will get him closer to 100%.

So anywho, that whole "if you play like you have for the next two seasons, will you hold out?" question is fucking moot.

The more I think about it, the more I understand Revis' decision to hold out for top dollar. Whether due to luck, injury or whatever, no cornerback will ever have another season like Revis' '09.

    Big shocker here..

He won't play against Denver, and it probably will be the smart thing, even though they're facing one of the top passing offenses so far this year. But it's better to have him healthy by the time December rolls around.

That holdout really fucked up his entire season so far.. it will be a few weeks before Revis becomes "Revis" again..

    *sigh*

I'd like him to get healed, and then practice all week and not play.

Do that for two weeks until its 100%.

This better not be like this in January.

Unbelievable. Well it's not like we really need him to win but it would be really sweet to see Revis of 09' out there with that defense. I'm not really sure what the deal is whether it be the hamstring injury or still not being in football shape but he just hasn't looked the same since getting on the field. Oh well, hopefully he rests up during the bye week and gets back up to 100%.

And im not saying hes been bad for us in the 3 games hes played but were all so used to him dominating the other team's starting receiver and it just hasn't seemed like hes done that yet. Im still very confident that the coaching staff can compensate for this problem like they've been doing the past few weeks.

This is frustrating, in that it's almost directly related to his holdout. Training camp helps avoid these types of things.

Luckily, Cromartie has been fantastic in his absence, and Wilson, Lowery, and Coleman have all played better of late too.

    Luckily Cromartie is a BEAST.

whatever Revis...Sit down and shut up for 2 weeks. See you after the bye.

We needed him against Denver though...That passing attack is great there

I'd honestly rather see him traded at this point (not this year he wouldn't be worth as much right now) than deal with something like this every time he's wanting a new contract. Getting one or maybe two good years out of him from a 4+ year deal isn't worth it when he's handicapping the team in players and money.

His entire selfishness runs in spite of everything else the team has done this off-season/year to stick together and play as a team. His play and his hamstring are issues because of what he chose to not to do.

It's no big deal. Let him get his rest. Truth be told, the Jets can probably go to war without him against Green Bay as well because they can drop an extra guy back against that terrible run game.

I trust the staff to handle this the right way.

If he tweaked it in the 1st quarter, why did he keep playing? I think he's making excuses for his poor play this time.

Imagine if we didn't crumble and just let him hold out instead.
