Here's Rex's Press Conference: http://www.newyorkjets.com/photos-a...nference/92c17ec0-8b73-4e8d-99d5-ddde3eee3f4d There's also locker room interviews on video with Revis, Pace, and Holmes. I love Rex's press conferences, they are so freaking funny.
Hilarious line between 2:15 and 2:35 in the press conference. Better to hear it than for me to re-type it.
I really don't like what I'm hearing about Revis. I don't think he's ready yet, especially if he covers Moss, you know he will push that hamstring to it's limits, and I'm scared shitless he's going to reinjure it. I'd even say I'd take a loss with no Revis than a win with a reinjured Revis. Even Rex alluded to the fact Revis hasn't gone all out yet in practice. I'd even say the same for Pace, as far as it sounds he isn;t ready yet either. This is a game that I want to see the O carry the D again. If the offense ins't up to that with no Revis on D, so be it. We need a healthy Revis out there, not one that is a twitch away from being out for 6 weeks.
yeah this. I mean shockingly enough Drew coleman can play corner... so Rex could do what he did against New England with Cro on Moss then whomever took Welker away (was it Wilson, or was he on the TE Gronkowski?) put them on Harvin, and we will be allright. Not perfect, but ok. We really need revis against the Broncos and the Packers.
Revis on Harvin will work fine enough. Revis on Moss with safety help is fine too. Nothing wrong with that.
Cro and Revis both have the ability to cover Moss. If Rex doesn't want Revis to run around a lot like the Ravens game, this is the team to do it against. Harvin and Berrian don't scare me. Pressure Favre, get the win.
I think we are overrating our corners that aren't named Revis. Cromartie did a good job on Moss in the second half, but who knows if that continues. He still does not look smooth out there. Sees to be slipping and sliding around a lot. And I'm shocked that anyone is expecting Coleman to be covering anyone like a blanket. That being said, I'm a little nervous about Revis being out there on anyone after his injury, Harvin or Moss. No one know his body better than Revis, I trust that he'll play if he's 100%. With 2 major passing attacks coming up (Denver and Green Bay), the Jets need him healthy on the field. I think NDMick said it best in that pressure on the old man is the key to a win. He's not very mobile anymore. I don't care if they have 12 Randy Mosses on the field, if he's pressured, it won't matter. I expect an increased number of blitzes this week. If he has all day to throw, he'll pick Coleman and Wilson apart, maybe even Cromartie. Favre does make mistakes without pressure sometimes, I can only imagine that with a green jersey in his face, he'll make more.
Cro on Moss - 0 catches Cro on Evans - 0 catches He hasn't allowed a catch in 6 quarters. What more can you ask from him?
And he has 2 picks ( on pace for 8 INTs this year) Cromartie has been better then advertised. he might not be revis but thats an unfair benchmark to set for any CB. Honestly right now name 1 team he woudln't start on. maybe the bengals who have j-jo and hall other then that he'd be the #1 or #2 on every other team
Did you forget about Brandon Marshall? Not that Marshall isn't a beast to cover, but he had his way with Cromartie. I wasn't aware that he didn't allow a catch against Moss and Evans. Was he always covering those two during the game or on other WRs occasionally? I'm not saying Cromartie's horrible, he's doing well. I think his stats look a little better than he does though.
Revis often gets no help, Cro usuually does. I don't think it's fair to say Cro shut anyone down... more of a team thing when it happens.
Yeah forgot about the Dolphins game in the middle there. But yes, he was 1 on 1 with Moss for a half, and Evans for a game, at least from what I could tell. I don't think even Revis could have covered Marshall that day. He was in beast mode.
I agree, maybe a few less catches, but he would have had a solid game anyway. Need to put about 8 guys on Marshall.
