According to Greg Bishop, less damage than thought. Also, the doctor asked him if he had any questions, and Jenkins responded "where is the nearest Popeyes?" http://twitter.com/#!/nytbishop/status/25895881064
I don't see him playing again unfortunately. He'll probably balloon to 400 lbs by the time next season comes around, IF there is a next season.
if i had just got out of surgery idk if i would want popeyes. its probably tough for jenks to get on a toilet right now and thats where hes gonna end up within 15 min of eating that popeyes. stuff is damn good though
what did we expect the doctors to say... yea that went pretty shitty.we really fucked that operation up.lets try this again in a couple of weeks
true. they said pace was better than they expected too and he would be back for the second game. we saw how that worked out.
Yeah. I thought Pace was coming back against the Pats. But I don't know now. I'm hopeful he'd come back along with Santonio in week 5, but only because the Jets did not put him on PUP list.
That doesn't matter from a Jets perspective, he's done football. But for Kris and his future, that's great news.
Really??? Thats great news. I don't want them to hurry him in there. At least not for the Jills game. Even if they do, I hope he has a minimal role to begin with.
He's been damaged goods for years, he tore his first ACL long before Mangini brought him to the Jets. Neither the first nor second surgeries slowed him down. The thing about it is, Jenkins has to rehab the injury either way. So basically, in eight months, having gone through all the pain of rehabbing that thing, he's going to have a choice to either rejoin his teammates in the Super Bowl hunt, or hang it up at age 31. I don't see this as a foregone conclusion at all.
Back or not we must find a replacement/added depth on the d-line. Hopefully more than one guy IMO (DT and DE).
If Jenkins returns its a bonus and needs to be treated as a luxury. The Jets need to address NT next year regardless of Jenkins decision.
I also don't see him coming back. The work he put in to rehab, lose weight, etc., just to come back and have it end like that must have been severely deflating. I doubt he'd risk going through it all again.
Yea, but rehabbing to the point of just living your life, and rehabbing to the point of being able to play in the NFL, are 2 different things.
I don't know, I feel as if he will make an attempt to come back. The key word is attempt. He may try and possibly get to camp, and then we'll see how well he does.
