My guess is the QB situation and it's an away game. Who is starting this week for the steelers anyway? Batch?
Charlie Batch is the starter. He was the Steelers 4th string QB to start training camp. Byron Leftwich the backup has knee issues and isn't 100%. If we get to our emergency QB it will be Antwaan Randle El. Given the QB and O-Line situation, plus being on the road, the fact they even favored is astonishing.
Good thing I stuck with Pittsburgh. I didn't allow that dumb line to convince me I was seeing the matchup all wrong. I thought this game had blowout written all over it. Then I saw the line and thought maybe I was missing something. Turns out other people were.
this has just shown Tampa to be what they are, a better team than last season, but not exactly a good team yet. Same thing with KC, granted they look to have beaten San fran today, but all they are doing is beating up on bad to average teams. Yes I do realize KC beat SD, but they are not a great team minus the cog to their OL and Jackson, and starting a rookie RB, who is now injured.
I rarely bet on sports games with real money. I was in a pool this week for the first time since 2000. It was through my father's workplace. I picked the Steelers but won't win because my father turned in a better sheet than me. He beat me by one. I have no master list, so we don't know if he is winning or not. Back in that 2000 pool, I was the one who ran it and every Friday afternoon I would create a spreadsheet with everyone's picks on it. Anyway, my father and I picked three games differently and he went 2-1 in them. His key selection was the Rams.
Shame it's not a rapist team. Last I checked consensual sex isn't rape. She followed him from bar to bar and was wearing a "DTF" (Dying to fuck) t-shirt. Her intentions were quite clear. Just like the other nut job in nevada who bragged about the sex to her co-workers afterwards saying "I hope I have a little Ben inside of me" All Ben is guilty of was having sex in a public place with a college co-ed. Georgia's DA was itching to pull the trigger on Ben as a high profile case to catapult himself to the Governorship but when it didn't materialize he gave a soundbite to make it seem like he was being tough on crime anyways. Michael Vick committed and plead guilty to a felony dog charge. Yet I don't hear a lot of people talking bad about him anymore.
Roethlisberger has a reputation that precedes his NFL days though, let's not pretend that he's really a sensitive soul who likes flower arranging and raising kittens in his spare time. I've no doubt that the girls were at the very least dumb, but Ben is stupid for getting himself into that situation and needs to do a bit of growing up. Vick did his time and is allowed to continue with his redemption, but he will forever more be characterised by his offence. That doesn't mean that his every subsequent act should be tainted by the errors of his past.
Vick went to jail for two years didn't he? He's done his time. Ben on two entirely seperate occasions was accused of sexual assault. Whether it happened or not isn't the case, when you get accused of sexual assault TWICE, there's definately something wrong. Plus Eminem dissed him in one of his songs, so you pretty much lose on that one too.
Oh I completely agree on the fact Ben needs to grow up. And a lot of Steeler fans agree. I actually would not have been upset if the Steelers had gotten rid of him. Eminem disses a lot of people in his songs, that doesn't make it any more or less relevant. He's probably a closet Browns or Lions fan.
