I have to say I was a little worried in the first 1 and a half games watching Cro out there slidding around getting beat on routes and just overall bad coverage, not the type of plays we all heard about and watched (hard knocks) in the off season

but in the second half of the Pats game he shut down Moss and tonight he did have a few misshaps here and there, but when your in man coverage on Marshall 75% of the game its a tall order

is anyone else seeing the improvement in this guy from week 1 and the mistakes he was making and even early on in this game (week 3) and how mid-game he was making adjustments and comes back out looking VERY solid at times against a top 5 WR in Marshall

Cromartie is shaping up to to big things. Seeing how much better Wilson reacted to being put in the slot tonight after being wrecked by Bess early on really excites me aswell because this kid in the slot makes some serious hits and stops on big plays that role will suit him well when when Revis Island is back open for business and Alcrotraz is on the other side, it should be a sight to see

I will compliment on his ability to take in coaching and get better as the game progresses.... but I still see the Cromartie that is afraid to be the lone tackler in space.

He wont do it. He's still not physical enough.

Marshall is arguably the best wide receiver in the game...He overwhelmed Cromartie...but Cromartie made some plays and hung on to keep Marshall from plain domination

Im glad Marshall had a pretty good day against Cromartie (since we still won the game)

Cromartie showed enough that the team knows hes good, but he got burnt just enough (against a top 3 wr) that I think itll help plenty when were thinking about resigning him at the end of the year.

Really hope this guy sticks around for a while .

I agree that he's not "there" yet. Only that I see a real development in his game that if it continues to increase at this rate it should be very interesting to say the least, because we all know what kind of big play ability he has

and yes, Marshall is "arguably" the best but I believe this guy and 3 Cardinals might disagree...

    I don't think it's Cromartie being a pussy. I just think he's not a very solid tackler.

he's so hesitant when it comes to wanting to wrap up.

If he dove at someone and missed, at least he attempted to hurt them.

Cro never seems to want to bring someone to the ground.

He made at least one big tackle in the running game last night. I was surprised, but impressed.

he played a nice game man to man single most of the time against the best wide receiver in the entire NFL

Revis is back in time for the Minnesota game --- not needed next week against the awful and pathetic Bills IMO

Cromartie didn't play bad at all but I'll definitely feel a lot better once Revis is completely healthy. Cromartie has waaaaaaaaay more value to the Jets as the #2, and Wilson as the #3. Our secondary is a weakness without Revis.

Cromartie is doing shit he didnt sign up for, and doing it pretty well. We are all SPOILED by Revis. A player like Marshall, and Moss are supposed to have 100 yards 1 TD every game.

Wait til Revis is back, and shutting down number 1's. You will see Cromartie laughing catching interceptions. Again we didn't ask Cromartie to come in, and cover number 1 wide receivers.

Cromartie is boom or bust... he either slips or almost intercepts it... all in all I'm good with that considering we have a Revis, we need a playmaker playing opposite to him.

I just I don't get a heart attack before the season ends -.-"

I agree. In fairness, Cro should have been covering Hartline, or sliding to Bess to help Wilson.

Revis is the key, and now you can see just how much the D misses him.

Cro doesn't want to put his hips on the ground at all. This is understandable given that he has had hip problems on both sides. Everything he does is shoulders and arms and you just can't do that consistently in the NFL and not get burned now and then.

We're probably seeing the best he has to offer and so far it's enough to help us win games.

Based on the way Rex has been talking about Cromartie, I'm not impressed with him. He does make some plays here and there, and by no means am I calling him Drew Coleman. But he seems to be so sloppy, slipping and sliding all over the place. Sometimes he looks like he's playing in a hockey rink. To me, it appears he is an OK CB whose amazing athletic ability elevates him to "good". I don't think we'll be able to put him one-on-one with a quick WR. He clearly isn't good enough to shut down a number 1 WR, but hopefully we won't need him to do that much longer.

That being said, we all are spoiled by Revis. When you compare any of these guys to him, they'll suck.

Brandon Marshall targeted 17 times, and completed 10 passes. I say that isn't bad for our NUMBER 2 CORNER covering a top 5 wide receiver.
