Not so much against the Pats, but against the Ravens and tonight. He has to turn his head and look for the football. If he does that, the Pass Interference call doesn't happen and a life line won't be given to the Dolphins. They would've been over and done before the end of the half. He is a rookie, but he needs to clean up a couple of mistakes. Can't waltz into the Wide Receiver and assume nothing is going to get called.
But still, we have to talk about that play in the first half. Kyle Wilson gave a life line to the Dolphins that made this game close for no reason. If the Jets shut them down in the first half and only allowed a field goal or nothing, big second half for the Jets to start on defense and stopping Miami for good.
R-O-O-K-I-E. Not every CB is going to come out like Revis in his first year. He's being pressed into a role he never was intended to fill this early in his career. He was pretty much guaranteed to struggle. Putting him on Fasano saved the Jets a lot of problems(oddly enough by giving Drew Coleman more match-ups).
Vince I know your going to read this thread at some point and I apologize for all the stupid assholes in this thread that think your bro should already be the second coming of Rod Woodson... as a rookie he's playing exactly how I'd expect him to. In 3-4 years from now if this is still continuing then yes you'd all have some legit complaints but until then STFU!!!! I still could not be any happier with the fact that KW is a part of this team and can't wait to see him when he progresses to the level of CB we know he can be.
I agree, for a change. The guy is a rookie. Did u guys expect him to be a ball hawk as a rookie? I mean, how many corners can cover a look back with in three NFL games? That too as a starter? He'll be fine towards the end of the stretch and better next season, of course. Cromartie was burned a few times himself as well and Marshall clearly won that battle regardless of who was at fault. Eitherway, I hope we resign Cromartie to an extension. Rexy loves corners and Cromartie is that type of a guy.
-Charles Woodson -Revis(at certain points) -Deoin Marshall just owns Cromartie's head. There's no other way to put it.
LOL @ people saying "why can't he turn his head and find the ball when it's in the air??" Let me see, probably cus that's idk the hardest part of playing corner in the NFL??
He's looked kind of bad so far but he is a rookie mainly playing 1on1 coverage. Give him a break, Let him earn his stripes and get some experience.
Wow Jets have some fans with the IQ's of a shit stain. Revis had the same problem when he came into the league. He lucked out by having David Barret or some other douche bag opposite him. As a rookie, he was better than the guys across from him. Wilson doesn't have that advantage. BTW If you don't believe Revis's problem as a rookie was looking back, check the tape and/or please shut the fuck up till you do.
Excellent Post. I've mentioned before that Kyle's not turning his head to find the ball. Buts its to be expected as a Rookie.
I was bitching about him not turning his head and I do know its difficult but I just like to vent when I get pissed, on that PI call on the 2 yard line though, if anytime he could have managed to face the ball right there he was close enough to have easily picked off the pass, that really pissed me off, it would of been a huge game changer. Anyway I love Wilson he will be a good CB in due time.
And you're right. Wilson is a rookie. But he should know to turn his head towards the ball and not be clumsey enough to get called for that pass interference call.
He will get better at reading the WR's eyes.... and when he does, he'll start making pik sixes. This is not an easy discipline to develop. Jason Allen has been around forever, and Edwards got him turned around and got the PI call on him in the end zone. Wilson has shown he has the skills. I think he is smart enough to make the next jump to big play CB sooner or later. It's about smarts, skills and experience. Unfortunately, Justin Miller had a zero in that first category.
