I'm sure Jenkins would restructure his deal if he were to comeback. He'd have to play a certain amount of downs.

He must know what a injury risk he is, and at this point he just wants to win.

If he doesn't want to walk with a cane the rest of his life, he really should have a long hard think about it first.
If he plays, this will happen again.

Even if both of those guys do sign with us, they're both high risk personalities that will both be on very short leashes. I don't want to count on either one of them to stay trouble free over the next few years, let alone both of them.

On the flip side, if we only sign Holmes and he gets suspended, we're back to Jerricho as #1 and god knows who else starting.

I say WR and either a pass rusher or NT. The order would be BPA at those 3 positions.

He won't play again. Sucks, too. We had been after that dominant DT for years and years, and once we get him, this happens. Total suckage.

With all the horror stories we hear about post-NFL life, I'm praying that Jenks listens to his body and calls it a career. He certainly doesn't need the money and with 2 bad knees, he's gonna be in pain for the entire last half of his life. He'll always be remembered as a Jet by us fans and I'm sure Woody will have some kind of recognition for him in due time.

Kris, its been a great ride pardner but its time for you to get on with the rest of your life now. You've done enough for the Jets. Now go do what's right for you and your family. The Jets will be OK so don't worry bout us.

    Adios KJ.

This is the 3rd time in 3 years he was injurd, and 2nd time in 2 years where he went out for the season early. No matter how good he is while healthy, you can't pay him big money if you can't rely on him playing.

They used part of his hamstring to heal his ACL since he's such a big guy. He almost had no other choice, but it worked fine for his other knee. Not this one I guess...

Its admirable that he wants to play again, but at some point he needs to consider his quality of life going forward. There's stories of him not being able to walk up a flight of stairs without being in noticeable pain, and this was before his most recent injury.

To me it sounds like Carlos Delgado's career. He suffered a hip injury early in the 2009 season and spent over a year recovering from the surgery. Then the Red Sox signed him a few months ago for the 2nd half, and he ended up injuring the other hip. A lot of guys don't like to willingly retire, but when your body tells you it's time, it's time.

Jenkins said last year's rehab almost sent him into retirement. I expect no different with both an ACL and MCL repair this year. He needs to consider quality of life after football (ever see Mike Ditka waddle?). I suspect he calls it quits.

I really don't want to see Jenkins back. He obviously isn't able to perform anymore and there are no reasons to continue on just enjoy the rest of your life and your ability to walk.

The dude is close to 400lbs... waht is everyone talking about quality of life and walking?

It's an ACL, The norm recovery on that is 6-8 weeks for non contact....

His Quality of life is more affected by his 400lbs without an injury..

I love big Jenx but honestly, If he wants to play again, i'm gonna support him no matter what.
If he retires he'll get down to a svelt 300 lbs and live off his millions...that's quality of life!.

People are forgetting that there will be a lockout next year and therefore it would be 2 years before Jenkins could play in the NFL again.

I love the big man to bits, but for the sake of your own health, just retire Jenks

After 6-8 weeks you can walk in a straight line...I wouldn't call that a complete "recovery"

I hope he calls it a career.

I love me some Kris Jenkins. But he's put forth enough effort for this team that I can't help but root for the guy to be able to play with his grandkids.

Thanks for the great gifs, KJ!

:breakdance: Great choice of words there T.

Thats the whole point though, 360lbs+ plus this injury is pretty f'n terrible. On an average dude, its bad enough, I can't imagine what his body will be going through with that weight.
