Because us normally rational people have our emotions invested with the team.

I have nothing invested financially or physically with the Jets. If they go bankrupt, or profit far beyond my imagination, it will make no impact on my life. I can take a step back and realize this is all entertainment. It really has no bearing on my life and whats really important to me.

However, my emotional investment and bragging rights are invested. That's why we call it "my team" or "our team" or say "we need a win". There really is no "US" when it comes to the Jets or any other team for that matter. Unless you own a PSL or advertise with the team, you have nothing invested with them.

But when people (media, co-workers, internet trolls (see Dung Fu)) start firing shots at the team, we get caught up in the moment. We take it personally cause our emotions are going for a ride with peaks and valleys of what is going on with the Jets. That's pretty much what makes us fans.

And that's why these clowns get to me!

This is what happens when you go from being the team in the shadow to being the team throwing the shadow....

    ....no big deal......

Once again, an article about the teams discipline. Hmmmm.

I'm glad Rex did that, and I'm glad Tomlinson spoke up and talked about being focused and disciplined. The problem is that they have to make those speeches at all. The fact that Tomlinson felt to stand up and say what he did speaks volumes to me about this problem, and how bad it really is. The author of that article is dead on: you don't wanna be THAT team.

I don't care what other people think, but I have less and less patience with so called Jet fans here who want the Jets to hurt their own team in a way other teams have not responded by voluntarily trying to sit Edwards.

Playing that game, agreeing with the team's enemies, is not the hallmark of a real Jet fan.

Are you a self proclaimed dark sider?

Please stop with all the negativity on the discipline. These are media hacks grasping for straws. They need something bad to write about. Why? Cause disaster sells stories and gets reaction not good news.
