It's not gloating to come to the Jets sight and post about how great the Steelers D is? That'd be like the Pats fans that come here starting a thread about how great the Pats were after beating the Bengals. This type of thing belongs in your home board.
ehh...I'd lighten up... SteelCurtain has been a pretty classy non-jets poster for some time now. I give him a pass for this thread. and he's right everyone thought the Steelers would be 1-3 or 0-4 until they got Ben back and they are in an excellent position right now being 2-0 with the Ravens and Bengals behind them. If the Steelers get Ben back AND he's like his old, hard as shit to tackle, scrappy self, they will be tough to beat.
Watch the Steelers just romp and stomp going 13-3 winning the division getting a 1st round bye. On that note, they are only favored by 1 over TB. You bet your ass I'm taking that.
Acually the post was to make a joke about how awful our offense has been so far this year, and again it's here in the NFL forums....Some of you guys need to get laid or something.
Revis might be good but he's not worth all that. Woodley never should have dropped to the Steelers in the second round. He was clearly first round talent. And Bryant McFadden is strong enough in our system with Troy and Ike back there. Any 3-4 D is only as good as the linebackers in it.
Hey man, don't be so hard on me. I'm very insecure, very insecure. I had to go on a Lions board and create an account there. Then I started a thread about how the Jets are a good team.
I don't know, their defense has looked awesome. Both Atlanta and the Titans (running game anyway) have good offenses and they shut both of them down. I don't have any problem with a steeler fan posting here about their team because it gives me a brief look at what is being discussed in their team forums without having to actually go there. Of course SC96 is a quality poster and it makes a big difference if the person truely knows the game and their team or not.
those are playoff caliber teams. it's not like beating the colts and saints, but its impressive considering they have quarterbacks with kellen clemens or worse ability, starting
The punctuation mistake in the title made me laugh when I pictured someone actually saying it like that.
Errm, this forum is headed "TheGangGreen.com Message Board > NFL & NCAA Football > National Football League >" Any poster can put a thread in here about any team, theirs or someone elses. I don't get all the animosity towards SteelCurtain96, whos been nothing but classy since hes been here. Would it be any different if a Jets fan posted about how good the Steelers D is? No
Neither should David Harris have dropped into the 2nd round. Woodley was taken 46th overall & D. Harris was drafted 47 after we traded up. Decent quality of Michigan players put out in the draft that year -- Leon Hall, Woodley, Harris, & Steve Breaston.
You're exactly right. I do feel confident the Steelers D can contain the Bucs but again, our offense has to be better. It's a tightrope right now that the Steelers are walking, and hopefully they can keep balancing for two more games.
Why are the Steelers such slight favorites? I know they are the road team and that is certainly a factor with the point spread, but I'm not buying that the Buccs are a good team even though they are 2-0. I thought 4.5 is a better spread for this game. Also, one would figure there'd be a lot of Pittsburgh backers here which would move the line. Maybe it does move to 4 or more by Sunday. Normally when a line surprises me I pick the team the oddsmakers are showing favor to. So in this case, I would take the Buccs. I'm telling you, whenever I am really, really surprised by a line (it happens about a half dozen times a year), it always works out where the team getting more respect from the oddsmakers than from me winds up winning the game. In other words, my head tells me Pittsburgh would win and should win, but the line is telling me Tampa Bay will win. Anyway, why do you think the line is so small at this time?
