I don't think Albert would be limited to just playing NT, imagine playing him at DE with Sione Pouha in the middle, or vice versa ... the pass rush would open up like the Red Sea On the other hand his character issues are atrocious, maybe a 4th pick or something idk
His contract will likely terminate after 2012, and he's already been paid the bulk of the money he's due on those 4 years. The Jets would be paying him about $16 million over 3 years. His contract is not the reason not to trade him unless Washington bitches about recouping part of the option bonus, which I'm sure the Jets wouldn't do. If they want VJax badly enough, Snyder will have to swallow the whole thing as a bad business move.
Btw Incarcerated Bob is NOT saying it WILL happen. This type of shit happens all the time in the NFL.. He is just reporting that they are talking about it. Apparently the Chargers, and Redskins are the ones being aggressive, but on the other hand of the deal.. The Jets not so much.
Contrary to popular belief, Haynesworth's contract is extremely reasonable to trade for at this point. The Skins have already paid him the great majority of the guaranteed money owed to him, like 30 million or so. When he originally signed, it was basically a 4 year contract I believe, with voidable big money years at the back end. So whoever trades for him only has a 3 year/16 million dollar commitment left to pay him.
But if he hist his incentives it could be worth $115 million, much different then what we were paying Jenkins. It breaks down like this, - 2010 guaranteed salary: $3.6M, 2011 guaranteed salary: $5.4M Isn't that still more then we can guarantee?
No, it really doesn't. And the guaranteed money issue isn't an issue because we'd be trading for a pre-existent contract, not signing him to a new one. Haynesworth will never see the full $100 million (or $115 million). The team that trades for him (or the Skins if they keep him) won't pick up the DSB in 2013. Again, money is not the reason not to sign him. His douchebag behavior and refusal to participate in OTAs is.
I am not clear on what we have to give up. I don't think it should be higher than a 4th rounder for a guy who does not want to play in our system. The thing is if his head was on strait he would jump at this opportunity to play on a Rex Ryan D. Fat Albert would have a ball in this d.
Its an interesting proposal. Sounds like SD & Wash have an urgent need to get this done and they are shopping it. Albert could become a beast on our D.... I doubt Mr. Johnson is interested however.
I think Haynesworth might be an interesting 3-4 DE. He's huge and quick for his size and he plays upfield a lot. If nothing else he'd be an auto-doubleteam on the weak side which would free up Pace to do some real damage when he comes back. On the downside he's already late prime and his attitude is poor. He isn't a fatboy defensive tackle though and if he decided to get off his ass and play he'd probably be a plus at RDE. He'd also give the Jets a legitimate 4 man front when they decided to do that. Jenkins injury really hurt the ability to put 2 real tackles side-by-side when they want to go with that. From a talent standpoint I'd love to see him on the Jets but I think the chemistry is a real issue.
I'm not really even taking Haynesworth The Player into account on my opinion. I can't get past Haynesworth The 'Man'.
Didn't you just make an offseason of bashing Revis for being selfish? And you'd consider this POS as a Jet? Really? Inconsistent much?
Huh? I think you should chill out. I simply said it was interesting. Haynesworth could be a beast on our D. Geesh ! hmy:
