I've been waiting since the news that Kris Jenkins did in fact tear his ACL for either, A, some good news, or B, to see him placed on IR. So far neither has happened. I'm wondering if the Jets are hoping that since it's so early in the season, and since Jenkins is already so good at rehabbing torn ACLs, that maybe they can have him back three months from now for the playoff push. I know typically a torn ACL could never be rehabbed that quickly, but an ACL being retorn almost immediately after it was repaired and rehabbed is hardly typical. At the very least it would appear that they're leaving the door open until after he has the surgery. I've got my fingers crossed as hard as they can go, because losing Jenkins two years in a row is just cruel.
A 31 year old 400 pound nose tackle is not going to recover a torn ACL in 4 months. ...let alone anyone in the world. He is done.
The fact it was recently repaired makes it worst. it will weaken the knee significantly more, possible enough to the point the jenks career is over. it really is some sad shit
Dangit, there goes that one. I'll wait to hear from him next June before I give up on Jenkins playing again as a Jet. Somehow I can't imagine as great a player as him wanting to go out like this.
He is done man, I just don't see him coming back from this. Maybe if he had gone 3/4ths of a the season on it... but to come back and BAM another one... ugh, that has to be heart breaking. The question is, was this just a freak thing or is that leg actually weakened because of the first surgery. Should have he waited longer? Only professionals know for sure, but either way, that look on his face was so disheartening, terrible thing.
I dunno man. The way that knee twisted, even if he he hadn't hurt his knee last season this still would have been serious.
He should just retire at this point. Maybe he'll get into broadcasting, he can't be worse than some of the slapdick announcers we have to hear.
Weren't they supposed to bring Coles back? Really surprised it was Clowney. I can't imagine he will ever get in a game.
Yeah Clowney <--> Woodhead and Green <--> Jenkins. Seems odd that Woodhead beat Clowney in training camp and now they swaped back on that..
Yeah, there has to be more to that then we are hearing. Woodhead could run, catch and play special teams. Clowney will sit on the bench. Something else must be part of that.
Well they had Woodhead out their. Clowney is fast and can get downfield quick, so wouldn't be surprised to see that at all
Where on special teams? Can he tackle? What can he do? Edwards was open all day and Sanchez didn't throw to him. He will never see Clowney so I doubt he will ever be on the field on offense.
Come on man, I think he tore his ACL 3 times. That's fucking painful. He's made a ton of money in his career, he doesn't need to go thru this again. I'd be shocked if he played again. For his own sake he should walk away from the game.
