I can't recall more dumb threads than I saw tonight. There is like 10 of them on the first page alone.
I don't even recall what the procedures for first down marker official is for plays like that where they might collide with a player. I know that 1st down marker dude was just trying to avoid a collision but for crying out loud!! move the other way! although, Sanchez and the Jets probably wouldn't have taken the ball to a FG range anyway.
B-B-B-But I was watching from overhead, so Keller should have saw the marker on the ground just like I did! I mean Jesus- there's a fucking yellow line, plain as day!
That's what it should have looked like, but for the life of me, I can clearly remember it happening WAYYY differently.
The douchebag holding the marker should have manned up and just stayed in his position so Keller could have seen where he was going. From Keller's view, he was passed the marker.
What about that orange thingy on the ground? I don't think it was really Keller's fault other than not taking the rout a little deeper. His momentum was taking him where it was taking him no matter where the guy was standing...
With a split second to act, what do you think Keller's gonna look at first? The small orange marker on the ground, or the eight-foot 1st down marker?
I like Keller a lot but that's bullshit. The game was on the line and he should have known where the 1st down was. You can blame it on reaction time, but the marker guys always move out of the way for players, and the spot made it like an inch past where the guy moved the marker, if that.
Keller has talent, but he's underwhelmed his whole career. His lack of awareness is astounding sometimes. This isn't the first time in a must first down situation he's gone bonehead like this. Pretty sure it happened last year.
Dude look at the picture. Dustin should have known that the first down marker was about a yard too short. I was mad when it happened too, but he doesn't enjoy the same view as we do or the big giant yellow line that we see. Also Ray Lewis killed him the play before I'd say he was still rattled.
lets be honest.... if keller made it an extra yard would we really have won anyway??? sanchez could not move the ball at all
