"After the stadium, Taylor, Tannenbaum and Ryan took a helicopter tour of Manhattan. The Empire State Building. Central Park. Yankee Stadium. Truth be told, the trip went long and, with three full-size men in the passenger seat, it became a bit cozy. Finally, they landed for dinner at Il Postino in Manhattan." I call hornet, Rex must have had his own helicopter.
"On the way to dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., Tannenbaum received a call from his boss, Johnson, who wanted to speak with the Canton-bound recruit. Tannenbaum handed the phone to Tomlinson. "His face lit up," Tannenbaum said. "At the end of the conversation, he said, 'Wow, the owner of the New York Jets called me.' I think that really impressed him." Thank God Woody did not fly to Europe to speak to Cowher a year before but saved his personal dealings for Tomlinson and Revis.
Great read, Thanks for the post. And Woody redeemed himself big time this offseason, I was completely pissed off about the Cowher situation, but it definitely seems to be working to our favor.
Name the SB winning HC who has won a SB with two different teams? Trick Question - no one has done it. I wanted Rex, not Cowher. Forget the Cowher thing ever happened.
Ryan delivered his response in person. He sprinted upstairs, barged into Tannenbaum's office and exclaimed, "Hell, yes!" Tannenbaum asked whether he needed to watch some film of Holmes. "F---, no," Ryan said. "That f---er cost me a ring." Love This! Hahahahaha
It's wild how life works, isn't it? There were so many people (myself included) who really wanted Cowher and were not pleased with Woody's decision not to meet him. And who knows, maybe Cowher would have been great for us. But Rex turned out to be such a great fit for THIS team.
too be honest, I wouldnt be surprised at all, if the KSK guys have a recorder in the Jets locker room, especially after HK, I believe it even more, Rex is so ridiculous that even the wildest KSK's might not be so far from the truth.....
