Does anyone foresee a Waterboy-esque gameplan by opposing teams. Leave the Jets offense on the field so Revis and Cromartie can not score tds.

The running game will be better than last season. I don't feel like I'm being overconfident when I say that. While Thomas Jones was great in the huddle, he was below average on the field. The O-line literally made him. He was nobody before he got here and he's nobody now that he's gone. Greene is better and now we have LT who can catch passes. Slauson has been solid in the run blocking department and Ducasse has the physical tools to be tremendous in that department as well. The Terminator will be a difference maker. My only concern is that if Greene gets hurt, who do we have that can pound the rock? I think Washington is our best bet, but he's not even on the active roster.

Holmes, Edwards, Cotchery, Smith, & Coles are more than most have.

Umm- Holmes is out for four weeks and coles is not on our roster yet ( I think he will be back after week one) So right now it is Edwards, Cotch, Smith. My question is if one of those 3 get hurt what is the plan for the first 4 weeks. Coles? that's a big drop off IMO. I think Keller is a better option but last I checked he was a TE.

I rest my case, he is a fine blocker but as for depth in the receiving corps he is almost no help at all. I thought we should have kept henry or clowney just in case.

Henry and Clowney can't get separation from their defenders.

When was the last time you saw Marcus Henry on the field?

If Andre Johnson goes down there is a big drop off on the Texans.

Teams don't have 3 #1 WRs. If someone gets injured there is always a drop off. Its the nature of all sports

Cromartie is a cover corner that was forced to play zone in SD after Ron Rivera took over......but you knew that already, right genius?

When I discuss other teams, I usually inform myself of what went on with players in the past so that I don't sound like I don't know what I'm talking about.

Ahhh of course, corner back 101: don't know how to play zone. What type dumb answer is that. Because u know Rex is going to play man on every defensive snap, believe it or not Rex plays alot of zone coverage.

    Re-sign Clowney and Allison, then.

Funny coming to a thread about O and getting here to see a debate about how much zone coverage the Jets play.

On the O, I am concerned about the line. It was a huge strength for most of the past decade, the exception being the effects of losing Kendall. Will the Jets be able to fill Faneca's spot, without suffering a drop off anywhere else (read - Woody)? Moore has been a good player, too, but not a great one. There's basically Mangold and Ferguson, who are great, but... Vlad is developing, Slauson a depth player having to start, and Woody looking a bit old all of a sudden (12th season, 32). Mangold and Ferguson MUST avoid injury. I dunno, it's a bit shakier than I think we'd all like.
