It's possible that the Revis deal really did come together fast. If it was something they thought was impending they'd probably have thought through the scenario and been ready to just release Jackson if and when the time came. The fact that they didn't have the contingency plan all set maybe tells you the acted on Revis when it came up and just worried about that first. Otherwise why have to mess with T-Rich?
VERY VERY glad to here this, he would have been hard if not impossible shoes to fill in the locker room....and on the field as well. on another note, there has been a lotta bashing of Ducasse/Klauson, and the release of Alan Fanaca......is there legitimate concern? I'm thinking yes.......
True enough, I'm just very worried about our receiving depth for next week...I mean you have Cotchery, Black Moses and his stonehands then what - Brad Smith? Woodhead? Even if the Ravens secondary is beat up I don't think we'll be able to take great advantage of it.
^ keller. But does anybody really think at this point in his career, Coles would be making all the difference in the world? We will see Keller set up in the slot some this game. He is probably the go to guy this week, cotch will see plenty of targets, and I expect a braylon bomb attempt or two...
^^^ This I think as much as we talk about how great our running game is and how many weapons we have at WR, we have a pretty talented TE on our hands and I think he'll have a breakout year as well.
Thank goodness. Good to see that the FO knows what they have in T Rich, unlike some of you humps on this message board thinking he's old therefore expendable....I won't name names.
You could tell Rex and the team didn't like T-Rich not being there. Glad to see him back, and Monday can't come any sooner.
In any other offense, I would agree with you. But a monster year in this offense, might be 50 receptions for 410 yards and 7 touchdowns. with so many options, I wouldnt be shocked to see any of the big 4 lead the team in receptions, hell i wouldnt even be shocked to see LT lead in receptions, surprised yes, shocked no not really.
This is great news, 2 days ago I was feeling pretty bad about this team as they cut Tony and still didn't have revis signed but the next day I feel great again as both are back.
I believe the real reason TR was cut instead of Jackson was this: Because TR was an FA, he did not have to clear waivers, while Jackson would have been available to the league via waivers. Wht wait a single day? Teams are claiming waived players as soon as they are cut. Teams can only afford to claim so many players. Holding Jackson another day improved his chances of not being claimed and making the PS. It was all about trying to protect Jackson from being claimed off waivers. The Jets were confident another team would not be able to convince TR to jump ship.
