He is the perfect example of why you don't give certain players Huge amounts of money up front in their contracts. You'd think his past history of being a malcontent would have raised red flags.

Fuck that, Shanahan has gone out of his way to try and embaress him. "headaches" are not a degenerative muscle condition.

    Fuck Shanahan.

after the way Haynesworth has acted, and completely refused to participate in the way football is run in washington especially after being paid $40 million in less than 18 months worth of work, he has deserved absolutely everything that shannahan has thrown at him. Haynesworth has been such a prick, that he deserves it.

Shannahan is still a douche, but I love him treating the entitled ass, like the douchebag he is.

Haynesworth elected to work out privatly instead of going to the voluntary camps, which he always has. I see nothing wrong there.

Hayensworth wasn't happy about being pushed into a position he didn't like or want to play, who would be? I see nothing wrong there.

Haynesworth had a degenerative muscle condition, which Shanahan classified and "headaches, or something". This caused him to not be able to pass the conditioning test.

Where is Haynesworth the bad guy in this? He signed a huge contract and hasn't lived up to it, so he's suddenly a douchebag and entitled? What? I don't recall him ever demanding that huge contract, or sitting out to get it, or talking shit about Shanahan until Mike started doing the same to him.

Everyone seems to want to shit on Haynesworth and pretend that what Shanahan is doing is great and OK. It's not. It's a bullshit move being done by a complete asshole who dosen't like that a player dosen't buy into his bullshit disciplinary philosophy.

    Fuck Shanahan.

    1. When you're supposed to be a team leader, you don't work out alone. Hell, coaches get pissed when low-profile goes opt to not attend OTAs.

    2. He didn't sign a contract to play "a position he likes or wants to play," he signed to play with the Washington Redskins and is getting paid a lot of money for it. If they tell him to return punts he better go work on looking the ball in; he has no right to bitch if he doesn't want to do it.

    3. The medical condition part is dubious, but considering that Haynesworth has NEVER been a well-conditioned player the most you can take from this is a 50/50 split of the guilt; I'm sure Haynesworth does have a medical condition making it hard for him to pass a fitness test and Shanny was a dick to call him out on then. On the other hand, Haynesworth failed the conditioning test several teams and, according to eyewitnesses, wasn't even trying particularly hard. Given his lackluster effort late in games this preseason, is it out of the question he would dog it?

    4. Haynesworth not only signed a contract for big money, he took a 21 million dollar bonus while ostensibly agreeing to work out with the team. Then he didn't. The team has punished him for this and instead of being a man and accepting the consequences of his actions, Haynesworth has opted to pout and bitch and be a malcontent.

Shannahan is an asshole, I won't argue that. But all he's trying to do here is hold the authority to actually coach his team. Haynesworth is trying to put himself above everyone else and Shannahan ain't having that. I don't blame him.

I also here they might be trading him back to Tennessee. There's money well spent!

And I know the link is PFT, take it for what you will.
