I was really pulling for Taylor to make the team as I thought he'd end up being a very good returner in the LW/Chad Morton mold and I also felt he'd help in 3rd down packages as a receiver. I saw him play alot at uconn and he was an extremely dangerous returner and was very good at running screens. I guess Woodhead beat him out. That's dissapointing as Woodhead doesn't offer much as player except as a RB. I also thought Taylor had some upside..which i don't think Woodhead does. All I know is...if Cotchery or Leonhard are returning punts week 1..I'm gonna be pissed.
Donovan Warren will be cut, because he couldnt get on the field due to a concussion.. Which sucks I thought we got a steal outta him. Hopefully nobody picks him up from the practice squad.
One thing on all this: Since Holmes won't be on the initial 53 roster, the Jets will need to cut someone after week 4 so Holmes can be activated. I imagine the Jets have to be thinking about this as well and will go into their decision on who makes the final cut. I think that Clowney may make it, and then be cut after week 4.
Actually, I think he will offer more as a receiver. Look for him to be more and more involved in the slot. A couple times he was in the slot yesterday and got wide open but protections broke down.
I know this question has nothing to do with the thread. But what I don't understand is how Big Ben gets his 6 game suspension reduced to 4 games for rape, and Santonio Holmes gets 4 games for smoking a j oint. It makes no sense to me. Why cant the JETS appeal Santonio Holmes suspension? Maybe I dont understand something here but it makes no sense!
Big Ben's suspension was for 6 games or 4 games depending on which side of the bed the commish woke up on.
I think its mainly due to the fact that there is a rule in place for failing a drug test. In terms of Ben Raping a girl its up to the commishes discretion. Also Ben wasn't charged with anything. I dont agree they should be equal penalties just stating what I think is the reasoning.
The Holmes spot will solve itself by then. After four weeks a spot will almost certainly open up due to suckage or injury.
