http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=cimini_rich&id=5526602 With coverage like this, no wonder we have a dark side. It might not mean anything, ofcourse. What a tool.
I didn't learn anything. I thought his job was to report and inform. He failed yet again. Let's keep using Hard Knocks as a tool for speculation when he's around the team more than anyone on this board. This is why I read Mehta and Ventras/Hutchinson. They don't pull stupid stunts. He works for ESPN. That should say it all.
Lack of leadership ond D? Come on, with Jenks, Scott, Pace, Ellis, Harris and Leonhard, we got Leaders all over the Place. Why did I even read his BS once again?
He was repeating what the coaching staff said which that there is a lack of leadership on offense - which is true. Sanchez comes across still like some goofy college kid - changing his coaches screen saver and drawing on his photos - not that surprising given his age - and no-one else is stepping forward. I could see Mangold stepping into that role maybe but aside from him you loook around and there seems to be only Holmes that has some spark to him, I cant wait for hsi suspension to be over.
When has Cimini ever reported anything where you thought " wow good story" In the last 10 years what maybe twice..... I mean even a useless curmudgeon (I am at work no cussing) like Florio points out what a useless toolbag Cimini is......... That's how Cimini writes, with his sly remarks, his anonymous sources and his negative slant. Shit that a-hole would fit in here. He just needs a smack in the head.
He does work for ESPN, os his job has ceased to be reporting and become a form or entertaining. If being a prick gets more people to follow him its a win for him. See Jim Rome as a prime example.
Cimini is a total douche, however, I have no problem with this particular article. In fact I would agree with most of it. This has not been a good preseason. The Pace injury, the Revis crap, the offensive doldrums. In fact, the only real positive this PS has been LT. Maybe Cromatie also, though I expected him to be very good. Hope they can flip the switch next Monday.
Not sure I really disagree with anything he's said there. What exactly seems to be the major gripe with what he reported? That the Jets lack offensive leadership? I can't disagree with that. That the turnovers are worrisome? Can't disagree with that either.
I'm no fan of Cimini, he writes like he's constipated in perpetuity, but you'd have to be a real optimist not to be at least a little concerned about this offense after what we've seen this pre-season.
It's still TV. Do you really think that the coaches and Tanny don't say certain things around the camera to cause some sort of drama?
No matter what you think of him, there is nothing wrong with that article. The concerns he mentions are legitimate. This team has a lot to prove on opening night.
lol he tweeted 2 NY writers got locked in at Lincoln FF in PHily bc they closed the media lot at 1am. Unfortunately he was prob not 1 of them
Sigh, reading alot into the preseason. BTW, I have not seen Rex dial up too many blitzes since the Giants game, they seem to be playing fairly vanilla, but what do I know.
We all know the record means shit in preseason. I was very unimpressed, outside of LT, with everything, defense included, after the 1st half of the Giants game.
