The more I think about it the more it seems like loosing Warren still remains a much bigger deal than this. This team's secondary is actually closer to a strength on defense than the major problem. The d-line and outside linebackers inability to generate a pass rush is a much bigger problem to begin with. Ray Rice ran all over this defense in January last year when it included Wilfork along with Warren, without them it could be even uglier. They might be deep enough at safety with Merriwether, Chung, and Sanders to help out in nickel situations so that their corner problems don't seem as bad. This team will struggle to stop the run at times, and will always struggle to get to the qb which will inevitably make Butler/McCourty/whoever look much worse than they already are.

But for clarification, this offense is gonna be insane and put up a billion points, possibly has a chance to be as good as '07 though it's obviously pretty damn unlikely they match the records from that group. Just in terms of weapons though they could be sick, Im loving these rookie tight ends and I think Edleman can be a real weapon out of the backfield if they choose to not just keep him in the slot. I'm gonna call it now and say the Pats beat the Jets in the first game because he throws a surprise half back pass for a huge play.

The Jets have the fortune of playing 2 good teams in a row that are banged up awfully bad.

What injuries do the Ravens have? Don't forget, we'd be out of two starters of our as well. Pace and Holmes, although we have another starting material to replace Holmes.

Their starting CBs are both back from ligament injuries (ACL tears I believe).

Cody will be out because of a meniscus injury

the OLB they just drafted out because he fell from two stories of stairs.

    Stallworth broken foot.

their defense is going to be garbage.

mccourty and butler as starting corners? Mccourty can be good but he's still a rookie. butler blows, and they have no depth.

their D line is pathetic outside of wilfork and if spikes doesn't step up this year, their linebackers aren't going to be all that great (mayo and banta cain...that's it)

i think people are going to light up the pats this year.

they're gonna need to outscore people and i doubt their makeshift and aging o line holds up. not much of a run game either with a geriatric backfield
