http://blog.newyorkjets.com/2010/08/26/victory-tour-bus-hasnt-stopped-yet-for-coles/ not sure I understand the title, but nice article.
I would have thought Jericho, his boy, would at least sit with him, but he was alone all the way in the front at the rookie show. Looks like he doesn't get a lot of love from players.
It's going to be him vs Clowney on retaining a roster spot... don't know who to root for... but the CS has until week 4 to decide so there's time...
A great Jet. It will be tough for him though because he doesn't play STs. Most 4th WRs need to play STs to stick around.
Haha I noticed that, too. I did see him playing Madden with a bunch of people in a video the other day, so I don't think he's lonely or anything.
Odd, the guy writing this article seems to be saying Hard Knocks is special for Coles when it isn't. Coles was in Hard Knocks last year with the Bengals.
don't know, just seemed off watching him sit up front by himself. reeked of either 1) i'm better than everyone here or 2) i know my place and i'm going to be cut week 4 so i'll just distance myself from everyone.
I wondered that myself, at first, but it looked like he was laughing and having a good time so I wouldn't read too much into it. It's great to have Coles back, hopefully he sticks around.
A massive chunk of our team wasnt here or just got drafted in 06. No Scott/Leonard/Revis/Sanchez/Greene/LT/Mangold-Dabrick(drafted in 06), Cromartie/Edwards/Holmes/Jenkins/ the list goes on and on. I mean outside of Ellis Cotchery and Schotty I cant think of many players from 06 who Coles knows on the team.
As much as I hate to root for guys to be on the team for sentimental reasons, I really do hope Coles sticks this year. I'd really like him to be there for the opportunity at a title. People have given him a lot of crap over the years for a perception that he's a malcontent, but he's been a big member of the Jets over the past decade.
Whenever I see him on Hard Knocks he's always alone, and always has the same shocked look on his face. Things have been quiet about him and his role recently.
I tried to work out a 53 and came down to two from Coles, L.Taylor and Cumberland for opening day with another dropping off when Holmes comes back.
Didn't Bobby Bowden also drop in camp this week, his old college coach at Florida State? I didn't see it in the article.
