Well this isn't good news signing Mangold. It will deflect from Revis and that thread will never get over 5000 by Wednesday.....

Glad to see Mangold is on the verge of a new deal.

    Small story on Mangold:

I was at the OSU/San Diego State game in Sept 2004 at the Horseshoe. Alex Stepanovich, the Buckeye center, injuryed his knee. I remember Stepanovich throwing his helmet at least 10 yards. Nick Mangold entered and never looked back. A few of my friends agreed, that day, Mangold was quite impressive for his 1st game . In fact, I believe the Buckeyes moved Stepanovich to OG after he recoved from his injury.

Mangold is one of my favortie Jets and is the best center in the NFL and needs to be paid accordingly.

I couldn't agree more, it will also send a message to the team about how they will take care of the players who are looking out for the best interest of the team.

Exactly why they are doing this. Revis camp's position will grow weaker and weaker by the day. Assuming it was and still is on the table, he should just take the 10 yr/$120 mil deal if he knows what is good for him.

I can't believe I'm disappointed by this news. I should be happy, but God damn I had some hope it was actually Revis.

Damnit another PFT thread. I'd love if it were true but the odds of that are roughly negative.

Mangold's much more deserving of this new deal than the other player.

Signing Mangold is job one right now. Signing Harris is two. If the Jets can get those two things done our future is fairly bright.

Yep. And it's exactly what they should be doing. Revis is more than welcome to hold out, and this is a risk he took. Mangold deserves to get paid.

don't you feel like if you could get revis in a stuck elevator for about an hour, you could convince him to play some damn football?

yes yes, insert rimjob jokes or whatever. i really think i could convince him. just get me 10 beers and my conversation hat.

I'm glad. This would have been the strategy I would have taken from day 1 if I was Tanny.
    1. Sign D'Brick - Done
    2. Sign Mangold
    3. Sign Harris

Meanwhile, let Revis sweat it out while all of his teammates who are supposedly getting "screwed" are signed.
