Ok I'm going to assume that we lose in the AFC Championship game again this year for this drill and end up with pick 29 again. Revis signs a 3-4 year bandaid type of deal. Holmes stays as does Pool. Edwards/Cromartie both leave to test free agency after having lights out years. Taylor doesn't get brought back. Our core 4 all remain with the team. With pick 29 who are the realistic prospects that the Jets can target? I'm not talking the Cameron Heywards or Deandre McDaniels but actual prospects that should potentially be around for the Jets if we stay put at 29? I'll let you experts figure out what our needs would be and their order of importance.

Your asking a pretty large question, I mean people have listed guys like Akeem Ayers, maybe a Jared Crick, hell maybe we even draft a receiver like Terrance Toliver. This isnt really going to know for a while

too early to make that call. How some of the Jets preform this year will have impact what they do in the freeagency and the draft.

I'd rank the guys that might be available like this:

NT- Jerrell Powe, Ole Miss. My far and away first target. Perfect Jenks replacement.
RT- Matt Reynolds, BYU. Older because of a mission, great run blocker that should be able to step in on the right side early.
WR- Jeff Fuller, Texas A&M. Potential stud, just getting held back by a stacked WR class. Would only be the pick if Edwards and Holmes both left.
DE- Allen Bailey, Miami. Athletic player could be a nice fit in Rex's 34.
DE- Jared Crick, Nebraska. Shouldn't be there, but what the hell. He'd be a great 34 end.
LB Jeremy Beal, Oklahoma. Not the most explosive outside rusher there is, but could be a nice replacement for Bryan Thomas down the road.

I'm aware of this but the draft forum is dead with the exception of GH's player rankings and figured this could be a good exercise for the draftniks on this site to dip into their infinite wisdom and maybe give us some prospects to keep an eye on throughout the season.

And GH out of that list I agree Powe is definitely my top pick if those are the players staring at us in the face but right now I have a feeling the Fins are going to realize that Starks and Soliai are not going to cut it and that Powe will be their first rounder. Just a hunch.

DeAndre McDaniel could most definitely be around late in the first round. His draft stock depends on how the other safety prospects perform this season.

UCLA's Rahim Moore, UNC's Deunta Williams, and Florida's Will Hill could all go ahead of McDaniel if things work out for them.

I'd cream myself if McDaniel was around when our pick came. I can't think of any other prospect that would be a bigger asset to our secondary and he just seems like a Jet... Aggressive, ferocious kill 'em all attitude and insane skills in all aspects of his game. With Revis and this kid in our backfield along with Wilson and Leonhard we could potentially have a all time great secondary if Wilson plays up to the level we all know he's capable of.

DeAndre McDaniel has a huge character concerns. I think he's a hell of a player, but I can't respect anyone that chokes out his girlfriend and throws her down a flight of stairs.

Clemson's other safety, Rashard Hall, is a big time playmaker as well.

I want to see us draft a safety, but not necessarily in the top rounds. There could be a lot of late round defensive backs that can make an impact in our scheme.

Keep an eye on WAC safeties Shiloh Keo and Duke Ihenacho. They are excellent in-the-box safeties.

I'd love to see what WVU's Robert Sands could do in our scheme. The kid's a physical freak.

I don't care about what his cousin and his sister have to say about his dick.

In all seriousness, Sands could be a monster in Rex's scheme. Great coverage skills and the ability to rush from the safety position make him ideal for this defense.

    Hahaha

The Predator has ridiculous range for a guy that's almost 6'6. It's like watching Taylor Mays, if Mays knew how to cover.

I've been trying to find as much as possible on Sands lately. I saw that TSN gave him the title: "The Big East's Hardest Hitter".

Right now, he's a late second round prospect...but if he runs well and shows solid agility in the drills, he could sneak into the bottom half of the first round depending on how things shake up.

You can't coach 6'5 220 with that kind of range and athleticism. I think he'll be a force in the NFL.

Oh my goodness that's a shitfest. Bailey and Franklin each about 30 spots ahead of where I'd think to rank them.

Floyd 44th?? Did he commit a felony in the past 2 hours I haven't heard about? I can't stand "professional" rankings, just senseless.
