Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

It could be simply that the thread starter deals with a lot of Giants fans or Dolphins who are teasing him or maybe he deals with a lot of football dummies at work or school.

I mean Cro is married so maybe he already shut up the haters saying he's gonna have at least 19 more kids with 24 different women before the season is over

Has there even been a lot of Cromartie hate? I can't see the poll on tapatalk on the iPhone, but if McKnight is on the poll, he gets my vote. If he's not, I vote Folk. I don't think AC and LT have gotten a lot of hate, but those two have, and I think both will shut people up.

While I think Cromartie was the best pickup of the this bunch, LT has sure been getting a lot of hate. Running behind the Jets oline and splitting carries with the beast known as Shonn Greene, I think he performs more like 2005 LT than he did last year.

Well football is a tough mans sport and players that play it like tough men are way more popular then players that don't. AC can be great at what he does within the realm of football and still not be liked because he is really not that tough.

That sentiment is totally unreasonable to intelligent footballs fans that recognize his skill set. I recognize Ac's value and skillset, especially within a Rex Ryan defense. That said I find it altogether troubling that he will not play tougher.

I think if you extrapolate that to someone that is more unreasonable about AC, it isn't that difficult to understand. People do remember that Shonn Greene run and it bothers them.............

I think the only 2 guys that really have naysayers are LT and Cromartie. I don't really hear any criticism aimed towards Pool or Holmes, or even Taylor really.

I think they'll all prove the critics wrong, although I'm a little skeptical about Taylor getting the double digit sacks Rex predicted.

I get what you wrote there.
Maybe what it is is that the haters saw all the INTs in '07 and the FG return vs Minnesota and never realized that Cromartie was a soft tackler that year, too.
So then the INT numbers went down in '08 and '09 and then they saw the Greene whiff and voila, Cromartie sucks in their eyes.

Hey the dude played with a cracked hip in 2008. I'm sure it was rather painful. He isn't a total pussy.

I understand though. You see it in hockey, there are guys otherworldly talented that just will not take a hit to make a play. If they are in the correct system, with the correct coach, they can still thrive. If not, they look really bad, just like AC last year.

I do not think it that big a deal. Rex Ryan plays to his players strength. He isn't blind, he knows AC well. He is going to have him on an even bigger island than Revis, most likely away from the LOS.

Rex will have Wilson/Pool/Leonard etc up at the LOS to pick up the slack. He basically did that with Rhodes and it is infinitely more important for a safety to be tough than a cover corner.

If Revis comes back AC's toughness or lack there of will be even less of an issue.

Yeah, I don't think it is an issue, either. Rex Ryan certainly does not.
Defenses can succeed with a finesse cornerback.

I would say cromartie, but I dont remember anyone making a big deal about him coming. I thought that was a really sound move. (Not saying there weren't critics, I just missed it I suppose) Because of this though I had to pick LT. I think hes going to have a great year and that move was under a lot more scrutiny than cromartie, whom will also have a monster year. Cromartie with the bigger year, but LT with the bigger "eat your words" factor.

Im surprised how many people said LT.

Quite frankly I just dont see the guy getting the ball that often.

And after last year our corners being the reason we didnt make the superbowl, Cromartie has all the opportunities to be the piece especially since he has the talent and is young enough to do it

While I understand all the arguments for Cromartie... I don't think he's being undercut the way LT has been... everyone agrees that Cromartie has talent and that his problem has been a lack of toughness / injuries. I also think its a general consensus that Cromartie should play better in the Jets defensive system than the Chargers.

On the other hand, many still feel Tomlinson is going to be a nonfactor... not just this year but ever again. I'm starting to buy into the fact that LT might not be done... and if he's not watch out because that's going to help the Jets tremendously.

    So I vote LT.

I am an FSU fan as well so I have followed Cromartie a lot in his career. People underestimate the off field issues with him. He has been through a lot of shit in his life (And I'm not just talking about his paternity issues). Cro is a good guy and does a lot of charity work in Tallahassee and I think this change of scenery is exactly what he needs to become the dominate player that we know he can be.

I understand the love for Cromartie, but who was against signing him or saw a lot of downside in doing so?!?!? It was a great move from the get go, imo.

So I voted for LT in this one, since I had doubts he still had it, and I know it was only one game, but he looked great Monday night.

The only two that should really be in this poll are LaDanian and Nick Folk. I chose LaDanian.

Exactly. Not to mention LT's preseason debut. He showed great quickness after the catch and good vision going through holes. That is what we need from him to complement the battering ram we call the Greene machine.

Most Jets fans were strongly against Cro coming here.

Myself included. That (non)play by Cromartie on the Greene TD run in the AFC Divisional game was horrifying on a level that we never even saw out of Mr. Twitter (Rhodes).

I think everyone's warmed up to the idea of Cromartie because of the Revis holdout and the fact that he's looked good so far... but still, I imagine if Cromartie pulls up at any point and costs the Jets a TD during the season then this place is going to go berserk.

Even still, talent was never the issue with Cromartie... it was his toughness.

I wanted Cro at the right price, I figured he would be worth at least a 2010 second rounder which was too much imo because we were looking at a CB in the first round anyway...we got him for a nice price.

and lol @ this cimini twitter post at the time

"Rumor that Jets are interested in trading for SD CB Antonio Cromartie, but two sources tell me it ain't so. Chargers want him out of AFC."
