Who can forget that come from behind victory in OT. I was there and sadly I admit I left at half time. My buddy had to be at work by 5 AM the next day. I will never leave a game again no matter what the score. Chrebet had over 100 yrds 2 TDS and Jumbo Elliot scored a TD. Vinnie had 5 TDS and almost 400 YDS Passing. Anyone know where I can find a copy of the game, I would love to watch that one again...
They won't provide a copy. You have to get one from a collector and make a trade. I have a tape of the game. I stopped recording for a couple minutes in the third quarter, but other than that it is intact.
a few guys are selling DVDs ,which I assume are made from tapes on ebay... I guess for 8.00 it is worth a shot..
If you have direct TV, they have an hour show on it called "the Midnight Miracle." It's not the entire game but they do a very good job showing the excitement and reactions and preparation to the game. Very good show.
I left early and shredded my ticket and threw it into the air on my way down the escalator proclaiming loudly that I didn't even want there to be any evidence that I even attended he game......this of course was the magic spell that propelled the Jets to their greatest victory since the 51-45 Wesley Walker win.
I was shaking after the Wesley game. I was so amped up, I remember just pacing back and forth realizing I had just witnessed history made. Because of the frequency of scoring. It was just bomb after bomb. You thought Marino and the fish would outlast O Brien and the Jets. It was a pure horse race. Page 4 on this link;http://nflhistory.net/linescores/pdf/1986.pdf The Monday nighter was a different paced game. A true comebacker in every sense. Didn't have that fire of the 1986 game because you almost didn't wanna watch after halftime but does rest right behind it. And the most important factor is that it was against the fish! http://www.miamidolphins.com/pressbox/fromthegame/fromthegame.asp?docid=1153&stats=1
I stay up and watched the whole game i bet my friend 50 dollars that the Jets would beat the dolphins before the game started he is a huge Fins fan it was awsome he was getting all cocky cause the Fins were beating the Jets and when the Jets won. he just about craped him self.
I had a party at my house here on the West Coast. With the ridiculous score at hand I started downing the beers to drown my sorrows. It was an unbelievable response in fighting back that way and I actually had to check the tape the next morning to ensure the Jets did win. Later that morning I called my mom in NY who went to bed at halftime. I was the first to inform her, at about noon Tuesday, that the Jets won. It took quite some convincing.
I'll never forget that day...And to think I almost turned the game off and went to bed! No, the masochist in me had to watch the whole thing...Wayne Cherbet in his finest form. And the look on Jumbo Elliott's FACE???? PRICELESS! And the way I strutted around work the next morning laughing at all the neigh-sayers and non-believers? Complete euphoria. I pray to God there is another game in my lifetime that will equal or SURPASS the joy I had that Monday night.
The Dolphins fan in work that Monday said the Dolphins would win 37-7. I thought it was a ridiculous prediction. Then the Dolphins led 30-7...
Why would you save a copy of a game in a season we didn't win the Super Bowl? Doesn't that make that game meaningless?
i will never forget that game. My buddy and I have been going to games for years and we never leave early regarless of the score. That night it really paid off. What made it even better was that we had a large group of Dolphins fans sitting next to us. The banter and taunts kept going back and forth. By the time the game was over and we got out of the parking lot and home, it was time for an early breakfast. There are people on ebay who have the game in its entirety. check it out.
I went to sleep after the 3rd quarter, I still regret. I was dumbfounded the next morning watching sports center. I really want to see it past the specials on espn, play by play, whole thing. I took the leap, and I'm trying to find a copy...
I was @ the game ..the Whole game. I recorded it but the tape/timer ran out after Coleman's 2nd Pick... If we combine the tapes we'd have a whole game and I could make a few.... ...I mean put it on DVD just for me
Well, if anybody lives near me, I'd be willing to meet up and trade tapes/make copies/convert to DVD- whatever. I have every game of 2000 and most of 2001. I have most, or maybe even all, of the Pats-Raiders snow game, and some other odds and ends. Almost none of these did I ever watch again after watching live, aside from the MNM. I watched it just to see if I got the Schwartzenegger comment- which I did. When I stopped recording I only cut off a couple minutes, if that. I think I will go back to taping games.
