only vid on youtube i could find worth posting.
i feel like an idiot for saying this, but i def assumed this guy was white because of his name. had not seen a picture or video of him previously. i like his size and speed, dude looks like he has the talent to be the eric smith of our offense.
uuuuuuum seriously. What is wrong with us. Thought the same thing when I watched the video. I guess Im so used to the Jets signing huge, white blocking tight ends as training camp fodder. I always assume that they look like James Dearth in my head...
This guy is 6-4 260 with 4.4 speed!?! I don't get it Gholston is 6-3 260 with 4.6 speed and that was supposedly freakish enough to get him in the top ten of the draft and this kid doesn't get drafted? The Jets don't need another Dustin Keller type TE they should convert him to outside linebacker with those measurables.
What came to my ind after reading this is if he makes the team and develops into a dangerous and useful weapon then they would probably look to unload Keller when his contract is up or expiring seeing as how this guy would be a cheaper investment with the same rewards and upside as our low 1st rounder. Maybe I'm right and maybe I'm not (more likely I'm not) but for some reason thats what I thought after reading this.
Keller has the potential to be top 5 TE in the league for years to come. The chemistry hes built up with Sanchez is also another important factor
He's always been an impressive athlete. He has the speed, acceleration and agility to play WR. His biggest problem is his blocking; he is a little too hesitant and doesn't step up to initiate contact. If Rex cannot foster a mean streak in him, he might as well drop out of the league.
9/10 guys in my flag football league run better routes than I saw on that film. The hitches weren't bad, but that's it. He looks like a goof.
Freakish athlete based off his measurables. Wouldn't surprise me if he scores against the Giants tomorrow either...
