now raining in Baltimore. Clausen picked off, but the first offensive play by the Ravens after that results in a fumble by the RB, taken to the house by CJ Wilson. Missed XP, so it's 10-9 Ravens. The weather is making an impact.
and there's a Prince Miller on Baltimore. Impressive punt return just now. Prince and Captain in the same game.
It's also very different eras we're talking about here. Plunkett blew in NE and SF. That was before all the rules changes in 1978 which opened up the passing game.
Plunkett got shellshocked in NE and in SF. He had a good rookie season in NE, but then he was just got the tar beat out of him playing on a pathetic team. He just needed a couple of years to get over that. Campbell is no Plunkett.
Despite the close score and number of points, a pretty shitty game. Once Brees got into a rhythm he looked impressive. But there was really only one player on the field who would open any eyes. How do teams get through seven fucking rounds of a draft and not stop at a guy like Julian Edelman?! Or Josh Cribbs, for that matter?!
Yeah, I know that. My point was that had Plunkett played in the current era and with bad teams and he sucked, he still would have had better numbers than he put up in the '70s. The two different eras we are talking about it are a big factor themselves. The bad quarterback of 2010 is going to have much better stats than the bad quarterback of 1973. Hell, the bad quarterback of 2010 will have better stats than a good quarterback of 1973.
TO be fair, it's not Henne's fault that Marshall has 2 drops and Hartline has one. The #19 is working it's magic.
Was just about to say TB's scrubs look a little better than Miami's. Both sides look pretty bad. Man I hate the second half of preseason games............. It makes me want to poke my eyeballs out.
Plunkett should get the same big game bonus points that Lynn Swann and Franco Harris got. He came up huge in two Superbowls, not to mention the regular season and playoffs in both years.
