Sources: Jets QB Ainge enters drug rehab facility Aug 4 8/4/2010 6:25:29 AM | More Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports Jets quarterback Erik Ainge recently entered a drug treatment/rehab facility for "recreational issues," according to sources. The Jets placed the fourth-year pro on the reserve/non-football illness list before the start of training camp. A team source said the Jets are "very disappointed" in what appears to be a relapse for Ainge and don't have a timetable for his return. This would be Ainge's second strike under the league's substance abuse policies, which means that he would be subject to an eight-game suspension upon his return. Ainge, who hasn't taken a regular-season snap in his first three seasons, was suspended for four games without pay in 2008 for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances. http://theredzone.org/BlogDescription.aspx?EntryId=8878
This one is for recreational drug use instead of PEDs. I wonder if that plays as cut-and-dry as this article is making it out to be. He's basically violating a different policy all together. That could mean something for how they handle the punishment. And that's just shoddy details at the end. Ainge was suspended for Star Caps and with all the controversy still surrounding that ruling, you think there would be a note about that. I expect better, Manish. This is Cimini lazy. Oh, and: 1. Sanchez 2. Brunell 3. O'Connell
What do we really know about O'Connell? What can he offer? At this point, I'd take the game experience Clemens has under his belt (even as awful as he played), over a questions mark. Come to think of it... 1.) Sanchez 2.) Brunell 3.) Smith
1.sanchez 2.brunell 3.who cares if this guy sees the field it will be real trouble o'connell 4.please no more wasting a 4th spot on a qb 5.smith
Clemens is going to be gone by the time the regular season starts, and I don't mean final cutdowns. I'd rather have Brad Smith running the wildcat the entire game than be forced to watch another Clemens shit-show.
If i have to watch Clemens tap dancing in the pocket one more time as a Jets fan it will be one too many. Guy has the pocket presence of Stephen Hawking.
Are him and Aaron Rodgers friends? About two weeks ago Eric was sending really strange responses to his tweets around 2am. I'm on my phone now, but will post them later.
Best of luck to Ainge. I've never been on his bandwagon, but I know what's like for his family. Get well soon, brah.
Ainge's Response- @AaronRodgers12 With all due respect... That ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin it on. Ainge's Response- @AaronRodgers12 This must be some sort of, Hot tub time machine... WTF is he talking about?
Maybe Ainge and Rodgers have once had a conversation that you weren't listening to, and they are talking about something that occurred in time between their birth and those tweets.
Yeah Clemens has just gone no where since he got here, and as much hope I had for Ainge, 2 visits to rehab in 3 years? Cut them both free, no need to waste roster spots. If we had to go to Brunell, we could split the time between him and Brad for a game and get away with it. But if we gotta go more than a couple of games, god only knows. Hopefully they give O'Connell some extra time in the preseason games to see what he looks like.
Yeah but that first exchange is really odd, Aaron is talking about golf and Eric replies about a dolphin and whale doing it. lol
