4,3,1,2,5 Hated the newspaper storyline, it was like 10 hours of shattered glass, it didn't bring anything new to the table. 4 was the best season of any show ever on TV, every storyline was riveting and perfectly balanced, 3 was a tiny bit inconsistent, but the stringer bell, avon barksdale relationship was amazing especially the scene where Stringer tells Avon he had his nephew killed. Season one, amazing really strong. Season 2 started a little slow but the last 3 episodes or so were astounding
People will continue to discover this show and realize how amazing it was. I agree that the 4th season is best, which is pretty remarkable considering Avon and Stringer were both not in the season. My order: 4,5,3,1,2 This is not to say that I didn't like the 2nd season.
My favorite seasons were 4, 1, 3, 5, 2. I was incredibly bored with season 2 as I watched it for the first time, but as the season progressed (especially the last 3-4 episodes) I started to appreciate the season as a whole and enjoyed it much more. Besides being bored at the beginning of season 2 and the whole Hampsterdam thing, the series was perfect IMO.
Actually, the Hampserdam was one of my favorite parts of the series. It really gets at the core of the social commentary that the show attempted to bring.
worst season (spoiler): whatever season when mcnulty started faking murders. that got a little out there.
Bumping this thread because I just discovered the show. Season 4...I mean, holy shit. Really it's all awesome though. Any favorite moments? I nominate Omar vs. Maury Levy in season 2, the entire season 4 finale (particularly Bodie's death scene, which calls back so brilliantly to Wallace's, another amazing moment), "King stay the king," and Stringer Bell's death scene.
I fucking love the Wire SPOILER Stringer Bell made me want to move to Baltimore and be a drug dealer. When he got capped at the end of Season 3 I was literally staring at my screen for a solid 10 minutes after saying what the fuckkkkk
I knew McNulty was British but had no idea that the guy that played Stringer Bell (Idris Elba) was also British until I saw him in a new cop show over here (called Luther). I think that the fifth season (aside from the brilliant wrap up) was the worst, the whole homeless murders thing was just a bit too nuts to take seriously.
I pretty much watched all of it online -- google -- projectfreetv It's been the most reliable tv/movie watching site for me.
One of the funniest youtube comments I've ever seen: "the baddest faggot gangsta ever on a tv show"
i just discovered this show a few months ago as well when they started at the first episode on hbo on demand. this truly might have been the greatest show ever made. season 4 is the best and 3 is right there with it. i was honestly stunned with how season 3 ended and somehow season 4 was even better. i cant wait for the second half of season 4 to go up onto on demand. (i like watching them on tv better than online)
Great Characters. One of my favorite characters was Senator Clay Davis. Shiiiiiiiiiiieeeet! That was a real gangsta. He robbed Stringer with a smile. You don't teach that shit in Law school. Gotta thank Spike for bringing him out.
2nd best show ever......... 4>2>1>3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>5
First heard about it last year when a friend recommended it. I've watched it twice so far, definitely the best show I've ever watched.
