FINALLY!!!! Somebody else who believes that we have a great receiver in Cotch! From his first minicamp i saw that there was something special in this kid. he is fearless, quick and has absolutely incredible hands! I don't know why herm never wanted to give the kid a chance, but i think that he is our real #2 receiver. what's even more perplexing to me is that the usually intelligent Jets fans aren't even seeing his potential greatness?!?!?! nevertheless, i truly believe that with mangini and schott on the sidelines, this will be his break out year!
I agree. I think that he will challenge McCareins for the #2 spot. When he was at NC State, he broke almost all of Torry Holts records. Now that is saying something about this guy. Was it Phillip Rivers making him look good, or was he making Phillip Rivers look good? I really hope that he gets his chance, because i really like this kid. Cotch Deserves a Schott
DAMN what a waste of time............that was my first post and probably my last....thank you all for making me feel so welcome here.....I appreciate your "insights"........guess Chrebet is GOD after all.............never mind..........DWIGHT SUCKS............he'll never amount to anything.....just a washed up white guy...why the hell did we sign HIM??????????.....peace out
quit takin it so personal, dwight should be solid, but wayne is of a different breed in too many ways
Most Jet fans have HUGE respect for Chrebet, because he's a hometown player and literally risked his life for the Jets every game. Even saying that Steve Smith or Marvin Harrison could replace Chrebet would get the same reaction. Don't take it too personal, but their will probably never be another Chrebet or Namath (Though I really wish their would be someone like them SOON).
The only comparison you can make between the two is that they are both white, small and fast for white guys. That's about it.
Chrebet & Dwight Too bad they dont look alike though... Their similarities are undersized white guy being fairly successful in the NFL; being an overachiever
Every white guy who makes the NFL as a wideout is going to be called the next Cherbet or McCaffery, its a given. Mike Hass, your fate is sealed. http://www.sportspickle.com/features/volume1/04242002-draft.html Heh.
Dwight is too old to be the next anything. Plus, Chrebet was a career Jet and Dwight is playing for his fourth or fifth team already. Dwight was never a starter I don't believe and made his biggest plays as a returner, which Chrebet did for only one year. No offense, but no comparison. Chrebet is one of great feel good stories in NFL history. Dwight is just another journeyman receiver.
This is gonna sound like the 'SAME OLE SONG' but I have to agree with the majoriy consensus here, Wayne was Wayne in a class by himself Tim Dwight should NEVER be confused with Wayne. EVER!
Best quote from that article: "Chosen one pick after Garrett on Sunday by the Raiders was Patrick Dyson, a black quarterback from East Carolina. Dyson, a classic drop-back quarterback who has a strong arm but showed very little mobility during his college career, is compared to Donovan McNabb or Kordell Stewart by many scouts. 'This kid?s a playmaker,' said Raiders scout Glen Walron. 'He can make things happen with his feet.' Uh....right. Gotta love the Raiders. Nice av, by the way.
I think Tim will be WC's replacement. Any time the team really needs a concusion, they're sending Tim in.
