I guess this was a question in some minds. Also, seems the Jets won't address any contracts now.

"Jets center Nick Mangold appeared on NFL Network's Total Access program Friday night, and ended all speculation that he might hold out of training camp.

"It doesn't seem to me to do any good to do it," said Mangold. "So I'll be there with bells on."

Jets owner Woody Johnson recently expressed little concern with the contract statuses of Mangold, disgruntled cornerback Darrelle Revis, and stud linebacker David Harris. Since last season's end, Mangold was under the assumption his contract would be extended, per promises allegedly made by Jets G.M. Mike Tannenbaum. The uncapped year threw a wrench into Tannenbaum's plans."

this seems to be a common thread in the nfl, top players not getting paid due to the new rules.

just read that tom brady is very unhappy and wants a manning-type deal in the $20m/yr range.

but the colts and pats are in the same boat we are.

good to hear that everybody is starting to realize that holding out is not going to help their contract status much this year.

any word on Wilsons deal? are they progressing? have they even started talking yet?
I heard on NFLN the day Bryant signed that the browns only began conversing with Haden's agent the night before which was 3 days before TC opened.

Why the hell would you wait so damn long? I would start negotiations in early July at the latest to make sure my draft picks are in camp on time.

That's a relief. I didn't want to go to Plan B, bringing in his sister to take his roster spot.

Out of the 4 Mangold is the one that deserves the contract the most. The guy is a true professional and i've got the upmost respect for the way he's conducting himself.Ulike someone else who shall remain nameless.

He'll probably get the franchise tag after the season and then get an extension later on.

Whilst it a massive shot in the arm, He still needs assurances as hes clearly pissed off, but doing the right thing, I would hate for him to get put on the back burner because he wasn't a 'problem'.
As Nick says, he has a battle going on to his left that will need his help.
    Appreciated Big Man.

Mangold will show up and work. The FO will take care of him when this labor mess is cleared up. They know how important he is. Hell, he's one of the best and most important players on the team.

If they did that there wouldn't be collusion. Forget it.

Come on man, you know it's not that simple with the uncertainty of the CBA and all the contract restrictions.

With that said, it seems like a few players from other teams (and Brick) have been getting extensions. Brady and/or Manning will probably get deals done sometime in the near future. These contracts will set a precedent (not necessarily in the amount of money, but how they structure the deal with the skill/injury guarantees). Revis and Mangold will realize that they will not get fully guaranteed contracts, so negotiations should run more smoothly.

This is fantastic news. I don't want anything distracting the players during Training Camp.
