Rodgers is widely considered a top 5 QB even this early into his career, yet his team lost to the Cardinals on a play when he pretty much soccer-kicked the ball into Karlos Dansby's hands to lose the game in overtime. Sometimes elite QBs make mistakes. Peyton Manning threw 4 picks and was sacked 4 times against the Patriots in the AFCCG in 2003/4.

You can say that over his career Favre has been prone to horrible decisions, but up until that Saints game he seemed pretty mistake-resistant for most of 2009.

I'd be it if it was an isolated incident, but that play against the Saints was something that Favre has done throughout his career, the latter years especially. It's the same thing he did against the Giants in 2007.

He doesn't occasionally make mistakes. He spent a career making a shit-ton of mistakes.

I think you guys are overrating Rodgers and Rivers and underrating Brady.

    1. Manning
    2. Brees
    3. Brady

In my opinion there is a big drop off after them with a huge log-jam for the rest of the top 10.

I agree Rodgers needs to do more in January BUT he did lead his team to 45 points in that loss and the play he fumble his facemask was clearly yanked which caused the fumble. When you score 45 pts you should win, he doesn't get the blame for that loss despite the game ending play.

Cutler will be one of those guys who puts up great fantasy #s but doesn't win enough and people will label him as a top QB as they foolishly did a couple of years ago.

Well, we'll see how much of the blame if they don't win goes on him. He is playing in a tough division where the Packers and Vikings will be battling it out for the division title and a much improved Lions team plus they have to play the NFC East and AFC East divisions that have 6 really good teams.

With his weapons I'd be surprised if Romo wasn't a top 5 QB this year.

Rodgers (you guys havent seen him play like i have)
    Manning
    Brees
    Brady
    Shaub
    HM. Rivers, Favre

I did my rankings based on flat out who I think is the best QB. I didn't do it on playoff wins, or SB rings. You guys overrate that kind of stuff. Those things are a TEAM effort not a QB effort. I hate when people base a players credit upon how many rings they have...

Anyway it's not Rodgers' fault that the defense couldn't do shit 2 years ago and that they fell apart due to no secondary last year in Arizona. His only fault is he hangs on too long when Allen Barbre couldn't protect. Now that he isn't starting and GB drafted Bulaga I expect Rodgers to take the last step and truely shine as the top QB in the game. Afterall he did score the most fantasy points of any QB last year.. just sayin.

    Let the flames come..

edit again: on a pass heavy team with the exception of one bad game in which he threw 3 interceptions, he had 4 picks in 15 games. Impressive? No shit. I understand if he's not your #1 or even #2 ranked QB because IMO Manning is the best of all time, but to not be in some people's top 5 is just ridiculous and those people have not done enough Packer research. I would know, I live here.

Dont forget the emergence of JerMichael Finley. He is going to be one hell of a nightmare match up this year. He can play from the traditional TE position and split out wide and run fade routes in the RZ ala Fitzgerald. His ability to be a top TE will really put Rodgers over the top. If Quarless comes on strong too, forget about it, hand Rodgers MVP ;) (Ok, so maybe thats wishful thinking!)

Don't forget Donald Lee, and the emerging RZ threat Spencer Havner last year.

That's not even mentioning Driver, Jennings, Nelson, and Jones.
