I thought this was funny http://http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Bills running back Marshawn Lynch has never said that he wants out of Buffalo. But he really didn't need to. His decision not to show up for most of the offseason program, at a time when he's pegged for third position on the depth chart, speaks volumes regarding his commitment to the team. And if his actions left any doubt, his comments about one of the Bills' division rivals could help turn a smoldering bridge into a full-blown conflagration. After a Thursday minicamp practice, Lynch gushed not about his own team, but about the New York Jets. "I'm probably not supposed to say that, but I'm excited to see what the Jets are going to do," Lynch told Tim Graham of ESPN.com. "I'm real excited." But while the Jets don't need Lynch in their stacked backfield (for now at least), Lynch plans to run the entire team. When the new Madden game comes out. "Now that's a team that I'm going to pick and play with on Madden," Lynch said. "That's real talk." Eventually, Lynch made a perfunctory reference to his own team. "It's going to be a great thing to see on paper, fantasy, live, in practice, in video games," Lynch said. "However you can see us get down to action and regardless of who the No. 1 is, even if I'm No. 5, it's going to be beautiful to watch us play." "Beautiful" isn't the word that comes to mind for most folks when discussing the Bills, but Lynch had to say something positive after gushing about the Jets.
Haha way to go Lynch Hopefully next year he'll get released and we pick him up instead of LT... the guy is a nut case but he runs like a beast!
The more I think of it, the more I'm getting comfortable with the thought of a 4-man backfield. Greene may or not be able to carry a starter's workload this season; LT has his share of questions marks; and McKnight has some big shoes to fill, following our beloved, Leon. Definitely some questions marks here. Of course, I could just as easily see all three of these guys having fantastic years for us. Point is, if we're ground 'n pound, you can never have enough good RBs. So, yea, I'd take this ugly bastard. But only if he got released.
a 4-man backfield would be ok if we didn't have 2 FB... with 2 FB having 3 RBs is plenty enough. Next year though T-Rich should retire and with 1 FB I'd be open to 4 RBs (especially if we switch to 18 reg season games).
Lynch is a perfectly fine addition to the McKnight-Greene-Conner 2011 Jets backfield, IF Tomlinson and Richardson call it a career after this year. No room for him this year. I'd also insist he change his name to Lynchson, just so he knows not to fuck around.
Although we really have no room for lynch or another rb I am quite worried about our rb core this year. LT hasnt look that great in practice We don't know how good Mcknight will be / if he will play at all Shonn Greene will probably be as good but he still hasn't played an entire season. More importantly what happens if Shonn goes down? We basically have 3 unproven rbs right now
Yup. Greene is the only one I trust to be productive. Problem is, can he handle the load? This is why I was glad to see many 3-receiver sets at the mini-camp practice. Get Mark prep'd now, just in case we have to shift gears away from an unproductive running game.
I think LT is going to be a great receiving out of the backfield, something we lacked last year. He may not be the best runner, but when you need a short yardage reception, I can't think of many better out of the backfield.
A team can never have enough good players at any position. Another poster did make a valid point about the 2 FB's along with 3 RB's being a bit much to think about adding ML, but next season 2 of those guys will probably be on their way out so if something could get done I wouldn't be unhappy.
We're also going to be carrying 4 QBs most likely, 2 fullbacks and so far 3 halfbacks. There's no room for Lynch, I'd rather use the space on one of our UPFAs like Warren.
I'd give the Bills 2 LLMEZ seats at the new stadium for Lynch. Then the Bills can watch some winning football this year.
Lynch is unhappy because he is down the depth chart in buffalo why would he want to com here and do the same?
I don't know - Shonn Greene is not exactly the injury-free workhorse that Lynch is. (If he ever was, then Jets would have been at SB dance.)
