    Reed works to return

The Ravens continue to keep their hopes high as star safety Ed Reed recovers from hip surgery last month. Reed has been rehabilitating in Colorado, and it's very likely the rehab process will continue into training camp, with him unable to participate fully until sometime in August. Reed remains committed to getting on the football field in 2010 and is shooting to be ready for Week 1.
Reed will be back in the Baltimore area in late July, however, for two charity events.

I'm not saying I'd be happy if he's not there against us, I always want to play vs the best, but it would be an advantage if he doesn't recover 100% for week 1...

it would be quite nice to have reed absent from an already weak secondary down in Baltimore. I wouldnt get our hopes up, if Welker will be ready for week 2, then reed will be 100% by week 1.

Too be honest, in this case I would be very happy to see reed not around, let Sanchez and the new look offense start out the season with a weakened defense, then as they go deeper in and hit their groove they can play top of the line defenses with ease...

Of every team in the NFL Baltimore matches up best against us, plus we won't have Holmes. So I'm hoping Reed isn't back at all. We are going to need every advantage we can get in this game.

Who knows it looks Like this game could be a tie breaker for home field advantage late in the playoffs.

We won't have Holmes, so I dont care if we arent beating the best. I just want the Jets to win.

Like most of us here I have only seen two AFC Championship appearances by the Jets, and would like to see something else. Winning game 1 is the first step.

Really? We're the best matchup in the NFL for the Ravens? So they'd rather play the Rams than the Jets?

Where is this crazy statement coming from?

I think he means the Ravens have the best shot at beating us, not that they'd want to play us the most for a win.

Thought he was retiring. He probably will after Keller rips him apart.

He's ready to get trampled by Shonn Greene then. Perfect timing.

Where's all this Reed trash talk coming from? Last I checked we'd all kill to have him on our team.

Dunno, he's not really a great cover man, which is crucial in our defense, plus he's getting up there in age with injury concerns.

Back in January, we were all collectively praying for a home game against the Ravens. We were confident we would have beaten them. Why all the worry now? To win the division, you must dominate at home and at least play .500 on the road. We need to beat them on Sept. 13., and the Pats in Wk. 2... no stumbling out of the gate.

He was going to retire. After his surgeries, however, he claimed to feel five years younger and forgot the word 'retire' existed.

The Jets don't play the same defense as the Ravens.
