do you just pull random "facts" about this issue out of your ass or something? you're overreacting, and i think a big part of that is bc you don't really grasp what's going on. $20 million now?? ok. this whole issue is like the prison scene in johnny dangerously.

God, just shut the fuck up to the media and tell Tannenbaum how pissed off you are. Shit like this is not going to get you the support from the fans which is the only reason for being this open about it.

The jets were comparing revis to being the 'jeter' of the team. Derek Jeter would never do this. Revis is greedy. Is Tom Brady the highest paid qb? no.

He never said 20 million, next try at a marginally intelligent post.

Derek Jeter got about the best contract he possibly could when he signed it. It wasn't an all-time contract like Alex Rodriguez's deal with the Rangers because Jeter wasn't a 40 homer guy. If he had been he'd have been asking for 253 million since A-Rod got 252.

It's apples and oranges though. The Yankees independent marketing and TV deals gave them much more money than any NFL team gets and the absence of the salary cap made a deal just a question of money paid, not competitive impact. Also, the guaranteed contracts in baseball lead to better cost predictability since teams can't abrogate them unilaterally and players have a much harder time renegotiating in that system.

If everyone needs to STFU then why are you posting. Sorry but these silly types of posts on a message board complaining about people using a message board for what it is meant for is irritating.

Anyway, they can easily get around this making Revis the highest paid while still keeping it below the $15.1 mil per year average of Aso's contract. You see it in many contracts that allow the player to say, I am making $X per year but they are not. Sign Revis to a 7 year $106M contract with a $5m roster bonus and $20M salary for the final year. That would make the first 6 years average at $13.5 per year which is IMO in the range he should be but allows Revis to say he got $15.14 per year which would be the 7 year average.

7 years down the road $25 mil might be a bargain for him but they would have him locked up for 6 at $13.5 per.

Aso's overpaid by about 3-4 million a year. If I'm the Jets I offer Revis 12 million a year or tell him if he can find a team that'll pay him 16+ a year we'll trade him to them for 7th round pick lol (no team would pay 16+ a year for him, least of all giving up higher than a 7th round pick in the process)...not that I'd really be willing to trade Revis, he's under contract for 3 more years but.....

I really hate that Revis acted hurt during practice to make a point. It's a low-rent thing to do, either skip minicamp or stfu for half a week. So he's worried about being docked pay for missing time, big deal. If you want to sit out on principle then sit out, don't try to have it both ways.

Doing this just makes me wonder how far he's willing to go, if he would do this is he going to withhold effort during games, go into Kerry Rhodes mode?! Is he going to turn a little injury into a big one during the season?

Revis doesnt play for the Yankees, and Derek Jeter isnt in the NFL.

wtf. two completely different scenario's with the contact, and how money can be spent.
