i was actually quite impressed with rex when he did an in game interview with the guys from sny. first time i have heard him where he didnt go out of his way to say something controversial. he did go off topic a bit a couple times and did say that they plan on having a parade but he was much more tolerable than he has been in the past..
You knew it was going to be a bad game because Maine was pitching that game. And anyway, good job Rex.
I was at the game last night. Rex didn't look much thinner to me. I was expecting to be shocked by how skinny he was ... didn't happen. That surgery is supposed to produce much better results than that. WTF is he doing?
All the surgery does is reducing the amount of food you eat (or you absorb, one of the two). If you still don't do a shit of excercise the weight won't go down.
The SNY announcer, Kevin what's his name tried to get Rex to compare the jets to the mets but Rex did not bite. Can you imagine, we made the Championship game last year and are loaded with talent, and this idiot wants to compare us to a team that sucked last year and tis year is a .500 team with some talent. Rex was kind enough to say we are a little Yanks and a little Met. I wanted to punch the announcer
http://web.sny.tv/media/video.jsp?content_id=8804467&topic_id=6479520 heres the full the interview as well as video of rex throwing the first pitch to mike tannenbaum. i think he's gotta better release point and delivery than oliver perez!
Yes. I don't know why it's relevant that our 3rd baseman is a multi-millionaire (especially when we consider your 3rd baseman's salary). The point is, the Mets market to that demographic because there IS a market there. The Yankees don't. The Jets/Mets connection is simply a historic one which started from the days that they both played at Shea, and were both the upstarts trying to gain market share from the established teams. It's nothing to get upset about... these days, being a Jets/Yankees fan is far more acceptable, and as evidenced by the "Jets/Mets or Jets/Yankees" polls whenever they're posted on these pages, it's becoming a more popular duo of teams to support. But I think the blue-collar connection is very much still there. We can all agree that the Giants are the more white-collar football team, right? Well, while our "JM or JY" polls are always near 50-50, go to any Giants website and post the same poll. You'll get 80-20 Yankees to Mets.
Are you fucking serious with that? I work at Citifield and can tell you there is a Massive hispanic and african american mets following.
