That's just sick, even though he is a Pat I got nothing but respect for Welker. The guy is a warrior. Only thing I would question right now is if the knee/leg can take a hit? It certainly looks strong enough from his running and cuts he is making.

Despite the fact that Welker is a Patriot, he is a goddamn warrior. Gotta respect a guy with that kind of heart. Besides, who wants to give them an excuse for us destroying them in week 2?
He'll easily be back Week 1 after doing what he's been doing now 3 months prior. The question is will he be 100%? The answer is no. He will never be the Welker of old either, but he will still be a pretty darn good player who we will need Wilson or Lowery to watch like a hawk.
Wes Welker has been crapping all over historic stereotypes since he came into the league. If there's money on it, I'd bet on him regaining his old form for at least 2 seasons.
As much as I hate him because he is a Patriot I think your on the right track about him. He is like that annoying kid on your high school football team that never got the memo to take it easy when everyone else was hung over. The difference being that he actually has skill to go along with the heart.
