My Dad visited him in the hospital, so the whole process was heartbreaking.

I was tweeting with the Jets about it and they even mentioned it in a article that they could not find him.

I thought it was odd too- Maybe there is some bad blood there, I doubt it though.

dont think 80,000 were in the stadium that day, that was the Bruce Coslet Area...lucky if there was 50,000 back then

Holy Crap you are quite fun to post with. I picture you in a lab coat developing pictures while not smiling at anything.

    Actually they've sold-out since 1992 i believe.

There were certainly not 80,000 fans that day. The capacity was lower in 1992 anyway but it was a late November game in a terrible season. I would guess that there were closer to 30,000 people in the Stadium when the play happened.

We have sold out every game since the late 70s but that doesn't mean everyone shows up, when we are bad late in years that building is empty- heck we were in the race last year and the building was empty against Atlanta in December.

It was a crappy, rainy day, too. I believe it was also Ken O'Brien's last game as a Jet.

Browning Nagle was starting that year due to Ken's holdout but Ken came in when Browning was injured.

Browning started 13 games that season-

Good Lord people, I was being sarcastic. Look at the tone of the conversation.

Some pissing match about you can remember seating capacity for every game.

I grew up there, literally, I don't care who else sits there I watch the games, that's why I go.

please guys i wanted this thread to honor a man who suffered a freak injury, not become another argument filled waste of web space. As i recall, (like i said before i was 7) i remember there being a decent crowd there, and i also remember how quiet it was when he was down.

Also we should talk about how dennis byrd had 20 sacks in his first 2 seasons. He couldve been a great jet. Who would you guys compare his game to in todays game??
I would say maybe aaron schobel, comprable size and weight, both have a good motor and of course, they are both white guys

That silence was horrifying as a kid-

I'll never forget that moment, or the moment he walked back on the field.

Both of those memories are burned in.

Sarcasm generally comes across better when you use smileys.

Debating how many people came to the game and other facts is not really a "waste of space".
