1.Carolina (no brainer, two players I wanted the Jets to draft when they came out. I was all for DeAngelo Williams in the 1st. you have two RB's who could start on any team and not hear the staff complain.) 2.Minnesota (Gerhart couldnt have had a more perfect fit, Jets get honorable mention but him and Peterson is a scary duo even with Gerhart being a rookie) 3.NY Jets (LT's redemption is in question, Greene needs to prove he can do what he did last year in a lead back role. That being said, the OL alone and the potential of the two backs makes em a clear cut for no 3 IMO) if SD had an OL id say Mathews and Sproles will be turning some heads this year. BIG if. lol
Since Sproles is so short he really compliments SD's tall receivers. Defense's must be going crazy looking up and down at players.
Ronnie Brown has only played all 16 games once in in his career and broke 1000 yards once as well. He's a hell of a talented back but I think they got downgraded due to his injury history.
If anything, the Jets might be ranked too high. Greene hasn't been leaned on for more than a couple weeks at a time so far in the NFL, and even in his limited exposure, he's had trouble staying on the field. If he can run the way he runs for 300 carries and not miss a game, he'll be a Pro Bowler, but I'm not confident he can do that. I'm cool with 8 though, because I have more faith in LT than most people. He's got all the benefits of a dedicated running offense without the drawback of having to take a 25-carry-a-game pounding. I'd be shocked if he gets less carries than Greene in the first month of the season, and I'd be equally shocked if he isn't averaging well north of 4 yards a carry.
if it was based on total running game then the jets should be higher, we have imo the best run blocking offensive line in football, the best lead blocker in nfl history, a young running back with the physical attributes to be a star and played his best football in playoffs, and a future hall of famer who will see better production behind a more talented line, run oreinted offense and no burden of being the feature back. If it was based on the WHOLE running game the jets should be at least 3rd. If not I am fine with being 8th, but i do agree with the buffalo dude, the bills should be around 10th with all that talent
does the offensive line and fullback play a part in these rankings? btw i am 100% with you about LT, playing behind this line will rejuvenate his career
I think 8 is reasonable, and that is assuming LT won't be good and McKnight won't contribute. If those two things go our way we're easily considered in the top 3.
Absolutely, and any impact that John Connor and Joe McKnight add to the team is a cherry on top, when I think of the Jets running game I think of longevity with all the veterans and young players with tons of potential on this squad, our running game should be good for the better part of this decade, Buffalo is very talented though nonetheless, I'm looking forward to seeing us play C.J. Spiller twice this season
Without such articles there would not be much to talk about on a Jet message board in the off-season. Yes a Super Bowl would be friggin great though-
