People with a good big frame shouldn't have too much trouble working up to 500 pounds. I could squat that much by the end of my junior season of high school football and that wasn't even the most on my team. I mean for someone my size (6'3" 270) it's not exactly a superhuman feat... With that being said, she's still a very beastly woman.
It's more appropriate to lift 200 pounds above your own body weight, not have a goal based upon what a person who weighs a ton more pounds than you got at their body weight. Still a remarkable achievement for a highschool girl nonetheless.
I'm sorry, and no disrespect to this obviously very strong and motivated young woman, but by no measure in any reasonable world does that look like a healthy individual. And no, I would not say that to her face.
exactly. its awesome that she can find something she truly enjoys and is good at but no matter how strong she is or muscle she has she is still unhealthy and obese. if she wants to live a long healthy life she will have to try to lose some of that fat. she has to be putting a shit load of pressure on her knees not to mention her heart. like i said good for her and everything but i feel bad for her at the same time bc you know things couldnt be easy for here growing up before her brother became famous
Well maybe we should start a Squat Chicks thread! in some worlds "Healthy Looking" is relative to each individual.....
Holly Mangold - Overweight and unhealthy? Size zero stick insect model - underweight/'normal' and healthy? Yep its all relative. I think that its great thats shes doing something she enjoys and is obviously very good at.
That girl should try shot-put, disc, hammer-throw. If she's a tank at lifting I bet she can throw like a champ too.
There is such a thing as fat and fit, believe it or not. Thing is, most fat people can't even climb a flight of stairs. I'd be willing to bet she's been checked out physically and cleared by doctors given her unusual circumstances or she wouldn't be competing at anything. I would think if she was advised to address it because she might drop dead because of it, she'd do something about it. However, she doesn't seem the type to do it for vanity's sake. Good for her. Hehe, you wouldn't say it to her face. I bet no-one says it to Nick's face, either. I can just see it now.. "What did you say about my sister?" "I, uh, nothing." "That's what I thought you said." "Hold on, did you just say something to my brother? I'll kill you." "I, what? No. N-o-o-o-o!" Double beat down.
"....It had to be you..." Actually being able to lift 300+ lbs over her head means she is carrying a considerable amount of muscle mass. Which is good cause even resting muscle burns calories. At 6'3" - 290 I can't put that much weight over my head and I carry a considerable muscle mass as well. Granted I am carrying a Bridgestone at the waistline, but I can still leg press 700lbs, walk 150ft carrying a 90lb cement bag on my shoulder, and climb a set of steps without getting winded (unless its right after a cigarette)... Just cause she is big, doesn't mean she's fat/unhealthy.
LOL... she actually makes the weight look small... My back aches just looking at it though small or not. SIGN HER UP - SELL PSL'S!!!!!
She was on MTV's True Life last night. IT was entitled, "I'm the Big Girl". She was funny as hell in the episode as she pursued lifting in the Olympics. Nick was in it for a little while. Nick and Holley didn't seem to get along all that well. Holley said that she thought Nick was embarrassed by her once she started playing football. There's one scene where she dives off the diving board. She's a hell of an athlete for a 323 pound girl.
