I am not really sure what my thoughts on NY having the Super Bowl. But if the owners approve of this Super Bowl to be played in the Northeast in Feb, then if I am the Bob Kraft, the Browns, Denver, any other team that has cold weather in Feb I make a case for my team to get the Super Bowl as well because it is unfair if he is using a one time condition to allow the Super Bowl in NY. That will show that Goodell is just trying to help the Jets & Giants sellout the stadium and get a corporate name on the building as well.

The hardcore fans won't care about the weather, and all the jerks who got corporate tickets won't go.

A vote for a cold weather Super Bowl is a vote for a game with a crowd made up of real fans.

I loved the bit where Clayton says he is troubled by the idea of a San Diego fan having to buy warm clothing after traveling cross country to see the chargers in the superbowl. 1: the chargers are choke artists and will never make it and 2: if you can afford to go to the superbowl 3k miles away, I'm pretty sure you can buy a jacket for 30 bucks.

Fkn john Clayton irks me.. I think he has a vagina

This is such a BAD idea!!!!!!

On Feb. 6th 2010 (The Sat. before this years Super Bowl):

Baltimore got 30 inches of snow.
Philadelphia got 27 inches of snow.
South Jersey got 28 inches of snow.
This storm JUST missed hitting NY City.

If this happens any time within 96 hours of the game, airports in NY/NJ will be paralyzed.

OK so maybe it's anomaly for that much snow in NY. When's the last time SD, Arizona, or Miami got that much snow?
We all know the NFL is leaning towards NY. Just another aspect to consider.

Why should we care? Most of us aren't going to need to use the airport. That would only be a relevant problem to us if the game WASN'T in the New Meadowlands.

    OK then.

    1. Most of us won't be getting tickets any way. I was just making an observation about potential problems.

    2. Prior to the Atlanta game last year there was a post on here about the LIRR suspending service due to snow. People on Long Island were bailing on the game then. So those who have to travel could be effected at airports and train stations.

It won't bother me. I live less then 5 minutes from the stadium. I'll load up the sled dogs if the Jets are in the Super Bowl!!!

They could keep fans warm by hosting the NFL Experience, where all fans go in through, in the Xanadu monstrosity. 4 hours in the cold to watch the game is OK, but with the security and attractions/festivities on site many fans enter 4+ hours before kickoff. It would get some use out of that gigantic waste of money and potential parking space.
Snow games are cool. Imagine if it is 35 degrees and raining. That is the worst weather possible.

I hope we don't get it because Woody and the Mara's will have egg on their face for not putting a roof on the place. If we do get it, I hope we get 30 inches of snow that Sat. night and nobody can get their. You know why??? BECAUSE THE JETS AND GIANT FANS ARE PAYING FOR IT AND WE DON'T GET TO GO AND EVERYONE WILL BE PATTING WOODY AND THE MARA'S ON THE BACK.

i think every team should host a superbowl. start at the first team, and 32 years from now, the 32nd team will get there turn. i would love to see a snow blizzard superbowl.

if you cry that some teams are not suited for football durring a coldday....then you dont have a complete football team.

Bingo! First mention of this that I've seen. The Super Bowl will get them a naming rights deal. They haven't been able to yet, and with the international recognition a Super Bowl brings, that deal will get done quicker.

I think that this is a big part of this. Funny, we all thought a roof mattered to get a Super Bowl. Doesn't mean shit. Money matters, and that is all that matters.

    Damn you are bitter-

It'd be great seeing the Jets play at home for a SB.

Why is there even any issue about a cold weather superbowl?

From my view point, I thought the superbowl could be held anywhere in the USA and not just the sunny place. Makes no sense to me
