Right before the start of the 2009 season me and a few friends went through and made a list of our predictions for the 2010 season. We did team records, rushing, receiving and passing leaders, biggest surprise and disappointments (I kicked ass in this one, choosing the Bengals as my biggest surprise and Steelers as biggest disappointment). It was pretty fun doing it in the first place, and even more fun going back and looking at it during the season. I'm thinking I'll keep it to regular season records for this thread. Anyways I wanted to wait until preseason was over but am too impatient. If anyone wants to join in with some predictions of their own, feel free. Without further ado, my predictions on how each team will fare during the 2010 regular season. AFC East z 1) Jets 11-5 2) Patriots 9-7 3) Dolphins 9-7 4) Bills 4-12 AFC North z 1) Ravens 11-5 y 2) Steelers 9-7 3) Browns 6-10 4) Bengals 6-10 AFC South * 1) Colts 12-4 y 2) Texans 10-6 3) Titans 8-8 4) Jaguars 6-10 AFC West z 1) Chargers 10-6 2) Kansas City 8-8 3) Denver 7-9 4) Oakland 5-11 NFC East z 1) Cowboys 10-6 2) Giants 8-8 3) Eagles 7-9 4) Redskins 7-9 NFC North * 1) Packers 13-3 y 2) Vikings 9-7 3) Bears 8-8 4) Lions 5-11 NFC South z 1) Saints 11-5 y 2) Atlanta 11-5 3) Bucs 7-9 4) Panthers 3-11 NFC West z 1) 49ers 10-6 2) Seahawks 7-9 3) Cardinals 6-10 4) Rams 3-13 y - Clinched Wild Card z - Clinched Division * - Clinched Division and Homefield Advantage I'm expecting a little more parity this year. What do you all think?
I agree with it almost totally except I'd switch N.E. and Pits. Also I'm totally down for predicting anything and everything seeing as how my friends are too gay to do that shit.
Last year I had a feeling the Steelers wouldn't make the playoffs and this year I have a feel they'll turn it around... they're schedule has a lot of winnable games. Carolina is my prediction for biggest disappointment this year. Looking back at their schedule I'd probably have to add another couple wins, but I definitely don't see them competing for a playoff spot this year. I don't think they'll have a reliable QB this year and I don't have much faith in their defense either. Us, after we beat em down week 1!

Here's a crack at it. AFC East z 1)Patriots 11-5 y) Jets 11-5 3) Dolphins 7-9 4) Bills 3-13 AFC North z 1) Ravens 11-5 2) Bengals 9-7 3) Steelers 7-9 4) Browns 7-9 AFC South z 1) Colts 11-5 y 2) Texans 9-7 3) Titans 8-8 4) Jaguars 5-11 AFC West z 1) Chargers 10-6 2) Denver 8-8 3) Chiefs 7-9 4) Oakland 5-11 NFC East z 1) Cowboys 10-6 2) Eagles 9-7 3) Giants 7-9 4) Redskins 7-9 NFC North z 1) Packers 11-5 y 2) Vikings 10-6 3) Lions 7-9 4) Bears 6-10 NFC South z 1) Atlanta 11-5 y 2) Saints 10-6 3) Bucs 5-11 4) Panthers 4-12 NFC West z 1) Seahawks 10-6 2) 49ers 8-8 3) Cardinals 7-9 4) Rams 5-11
I agree with this pretty much, except I'd change the AFC West to Chargers : 12-4 Chiefs : 7-9 Broncos : 6-10 Raiders : 5-11
AFC East 1) Jets 10-6 2) Patriots 8-8 3) Dolphins 9-7 4) Bills 6-10 AFC North 1) Ravens 11-5 2) Steelers 9-7 3) Browns 5-11 4) Bengals 6-10 AFC South 1) Colts 13-3 2) Texans 10-6 3) Titans 8-8 4) Jaguars 6-10 AFC West 1) Chargers 12-4 2) Kansas City 6-10 3) Denver 7-9 4) Oakland 5-11 NFC East 1) Cowboys 12-4 2) Giants 10-6 3) Eagles 7-9 4) Redskins 12-4 NFC North 1) Packers 13-3 2) Vikings 9-7 3) Bears 8-8 4) Lions 5-11 NFC South 1) Saints 11-5 2) Atlanta 10-6 3) Bucs 7-9 4) Panthers 6-10 NFC West 1) 49ers 10-6 2) Seahawks 10-6 3) Cardinals 6-10 4) Rams 3-13
I'm just going to do the two Eastern divisions. AFC East Jets: 11-5 Dolphins: 10-6 Patriots:8-8 Bills:5-11 NFC East Cowboys: 10-6 Giants: 10-6 Redskins: 8-8 Eagles: 7-9 I think the Jets defense will be what we've seen from it and continue to play well. The running game will, I think, miss Jones a bit but still be strong. The passing game I can see starting slow, considering the influx of new players, but finishing the year strong. I think most of the Jets loses come early but they finish the year looking good. The Dolphins will be, I think, a much better team this year. Henne will lose them some games, but their offensive unit much better as now opposing defenses will have to pick their poison in either spreading out to stop Marshall or bunching in to stop their power running game. They had a very young defensive draft and will be much better on that side of the ball. The Patriots will stumble this year. They drafted well this year, but they needed to draft great to keep up with Miami and NY; they didn't and thus they fall behind. The lack of Welker will hurt the still-recovering Brady and Moss will find himself doubled and frustrated. The biggest weakness of their defense last year was not, in my opinion, the play of the secondary but rather was the lack of a pass-rush. The secondary often looked bad because opposing QBs had time to make their reads and space to step into their throws. They didn't really fix that in this draft and unless Ron Brace suddenly learned to chase down QBs, they still lack that. Buffalo will continue to search for a QB and will struggle. Buffalo will somehow win 5 games as they continually search for a QB. For the NFC East I think Dallas is overrated by many when you consider their OLT will probably be Leonard Davis. He's bad at that position and has shown this in the past. The NFC East is a pass-rushing division and Romo's blindside is not well-guarded. I know they have a great-looking offense, but all those great pass-catching weapons won't mean much if Romo is running for his life. Given his propensity to not protect the ball, I think Dallas underachieves and falls short of the expectations the media has heaped upon them. The Giants will be healthy, which they never really were last year, and will have the benefit of having a DC that doesn't suck taint. The passing game was very good last year and I think the other side of the ball will be greatly improved, especially by the season's end as JPP and Joseph adapt to the pro-level. Washington is in much better shape with a real QB, but they still lack a lot of other pieces of the puzzle. Their DL is old and Haynesworth does NOT want any part of a 3-4. Their RB stable is old and I can't see them getting much out of those guys down the stretch. I predict a quick start, but a bad finish for them. Philly is, I think, overrated by many. I know the Eagles organization likes Kolb a lot, but he hasn't done a damn thing yet. I think they have a good start to the season as they will rely heavily on YAC from their talented offensive unit. As the year goes on, however, I think opposing DCs will take away this option and will force the game onto Kolb's shoulders. He'll struggle and I think they end the year on a bad note. Let me ask, I see a lot of people pegging the Giants for a 500 record or a weak 9-7. I know I wear blue-tinted glasses, but considering the injuries we faced last year (Jacobs was hurt all year as were Ross and Phillips, Pierce was lost, etc) and the fact that Bill Sheridan is the WORST defensive coordinator I have ever seen the Giants put on the sideline, I really think the Giants will be much improved this year. The passing game was a HUGE surprise last year and should only improve as all the WR are young. I don't think I just described an 8-8 team. And why is everyone so confident in Philly? I know they put up amazing offensive numbers last year, but they just gave away the QB that made those numbers happen and replaced him with a QB whose record consists of beating up a hapless Chiefs team (Eli throw a TD against them on one leg for crying out loud!) and throwing 3 INTs against a Saints team that embarrassed them in a shoot-out at home. Why does everyone just think they'll pick up where they left off?
Being a Bengals season ticket holder I am hoping they repeat as AFC North champs. But man your Jets are going to be tough this year. They added so many more pieces this year.It will be tough to beat them this year.
