I'm not bashing the guy junc. Fact is, Faneca wasn't a great pass blocker in the Green & White. I'm glad he found a team quickly to finish his career with, but I'm not going to say he was a solid all-around G, because that's simply not true.

Agreed he helped our young guys develop but his skills just dropped to much.

Faneca got bashed quite a bit over his pass blocking while he was here as well. It's just that now it's all being concentrated into individual threads which happen to be soley dedicated to him.

I understand being frustrated w/ a guys play and all that, they are big boys mkaing alot of money so they should be able to handle the criticism. my problem is the second we let guys go or they walk in FA we bash them no matter what they did for us. Remember what our OL looked like in 2007 before he got here, no he wasn't his old all pro self but he was a very good signing that helped our C and LT become all-pro caliber players and for that I will always appreciate faneca.

People were complaining of Faneca's pass blocking well before he was let go.

This is so 1990 something. Didn't we lose 3 guys to the Cards back then?

That was the reason stated as to why Pittsburgh originally didn't resign him.

Faneca was the worst pass blocker on the OLine last season. He was instrumental in the development for Brick and a beast in the running game but his skill set is not where the Jets need to go this season. If the Jets cannot do a better job protecting Sanchez then he cannot develop as a QB and the team cannot expand the passing game. They were not going to do a better job protecting Sanchez by keeping Faneca.
