I highly doubt they cut Gholston this year until they see how the experiment pans out, but I'd laugh my ass off. I'd much rather see him contribute at DE so we can talk about him in Robert Gallery terms instead of Mike Mamula terms.
Hate to tell you this, but Mike Mamula was WAAAAAY more productive than Gholston. Gholston is currently at Ki-Jana Carter/Akili Smith level and Mamula is about 2 steps above that. He is, however, above Ryan Leaf and Blair Thomas at least.
It depends on where they project Edds and McCoy as far as position. They could still have a big need at OLB with only Misi as a viable contributor this season.
Those 2 weren't workout warriors, but yes, Mamula was more productive. Fine, we'll go Tony Mandarich.
He is not above Blair Thomas, at least Thomas played and actually had positive stats. Thomas actually had a 5.0 y/c in his first year and rushed for 730 yards in his second. Gholston would actually have had to sack or tackle somebody in his first two years to even rate below him so I'm not sure where that leaves Gholston. Probably the same can be said about Ryan Leaf too. I'm not sure Gholston rates ahead of anybody in NFL history.
I don't assume you to be dumb...but you can't assume everyone knows you know something. I'd also venture to say that "Gholston is a bust" is probably the most thrown around fact. (Notice I used fact, not opinion...)
How many posts/threads/arguments have been posted on A Thomas without referring to the fact that he worked with Rex? You would literally have to have been looking at only my one post to not know that on here.
Dude, I'm not picking on you, just making any example. How many regular posters just cant figure out this final 8 rule? I dont understand, its the same guys that are on here 24/7, just like me, yet they still dont know the final 8 rules. Come on guys, I'm a pothead and haven't had a problem remembering them since day 1 of free agency started. We're like 3 months in now and people still dont know.
I thought BT was productive last year. That would be a mistake especially since AT was not. Certainly can't keep both though, you know it's confusing when you have to resort to using initials.
