John Conner isn't the tallest guy in the world, but he played a lot of tight end at Kentucky. This kid's a lot more versatile than people seem to think. He's also a hell of a special teamer. Conner's obviously the fullback of the future. I think as a rookie he'll contribute as a package tight end and as a special teamer. I don't understand this pick, but I'm sure Tannenbaum will explain it later.
No. Because they feel that Leon may not be fully healthy again. This was a DEVASTATING injury. Personally, I think we should have kept Leon... BUT they did pick up a GREAT situational runner who will fill the SAME role Leon did. AND they got a great blocking FB who may be the guy for a long time. Feel that Leon was worth more, but given the injury and the big question mark, this was as much as a team would want to give up for him. Have faith in Tannenbaum and co. considering their track record.
Tannenbaum said in earlier statements that Rex doesn't like to use draft picks on DL, he prefers to find them as FA. I hope they have some people targeted cuz we need some.
This make it Crystal clear that the JETS felt that Leon is toast and we got what ever we could for him.
Wow, unless he is injured beyond repair, the Leon Washington situation was poorly handled by our front office.
i guess you have to begin to think about replacing richardson... but he really isnt replaceable. oh well i cant say i understand it and dont get the trade and am at a loss on a number of things the fo has done the past 24 hours. but hey wtf do i know.
Let 'The Terminator' jokes begin. Bye, Leon. Business is certainly business, but I did shed a little tear.
so,we could not adress FB next year or just sign someone who gets cut?Is FB really that important? Didn't rex say that pettine was in his ear about the draft and happy cause he was gonna get new D help?
