Not sure if this is in the right forum, but seeing as it has to do with Faneca I figured it would go here. When a player is put on the trading block, or is expected to be released and is not, how, if at all does that affect the player and locker room the following year? Do they not try as hard as their way of saying "fuck you", do they work harder to prove trying to get rid of me was a mistake? Do they usually hold out?
Well, it doesn't seem like it's gone to the "point of no return" yet with Faneca. If the rumors are highly publicized, like the McNabb talks, then a deal has to get done. If the Jets keep Faneca, I wouldn't expect any problems.
It really depends on the player and the situation. I don't think we are actively shopping Faneca, so I expect him to return and play hard for us, but if we do end up with a guard at the end of round 2 I expect he will be cut or traded for a very late pick.
If we end up keeping him I think it was a stunt. I could see Mr. T going to Faneca and saying hey we need some smoke screens out there for the draft we're going to announce your up for a trade. We haven't heard nothing from Faneca in the news about these rumors so this is what I'm betting on.
trade bloc Definition An agreement between states, regions, or countries, to reduce barriers to trade between the participating regions. The most well known trade bloc is NAFTA, between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Some opponents of trade blocs believe that such agreements are detrimental to global free trade. Does that answer your question??
its amazing how a 7 million dollar salary will help him get over his hurt feelings. Don't forget there's also a chance Tannenbaum or someone told him straight up that this is a smoke screen and not to read anything into it. Plus, Faneca is a veteran.. he knows business is business
This isn't a video game. There is no actual thing as a trading block. Even if the Jets are 95% sure they're getting an OG and then cutting or trading Faneca, they wouldn't tell him yet. What if they change their minds? Football doesn't really have trading blocks, and if they do, it's usually mutual. Everyone knew Denver was moving Marshall. Faneca is a professional. If he stays, he'll work hard and it'll be like nothing happened. Because nothing actually did happen. If he goes, he goes.
When the Lombardi article of Faneca, Ellis and Thomas being shopped around was reported, I said this: [/Cakes]
