Rex Ryan was asked on Jets Nation before the draft what his thoughts were on the draft. He replied that he felt that their was great depth on the defensive line and that there would be good players going into the 3rd round. He also said that he wanted to get a player that could play in nickel situations. With the Jets drafting CB Kyle Wilson with the 29th pick to presumably play nickel back on defense next season, perhaps Rex Ryan's comments on the defensive line will ring true tomorrow.
I'm predicting Tyson Alualu...oh wait, for some god awful reason the Jaguars took him in the top ten. Seriously though, the Jets have a great chance to land a very talented 3-4 front seven player in the second round. Hopefully we'll be lucky again tomorrow.
Linval Joseph would be a DE for us to start and eventually could take over for Jinx at NT once he finally hangs 'em up. He probably won't be there at 61....but then again, I thought that we didn't have a shot in hell at getting Wilson, so anything can happen.
Plenty of depth at 3-4 DE in the 2nd round. Unless something crazy happens we should have our choice of guys such as Alex Carrington, Corey Wooton, or Lamarr Houston.
We were one game away from the Superbowl. Yes we had some unfortunate luck with Greene getting injured, but what was gaping, was our inability to have a decent nickel / dime set. This now appears to be on the mend, Lowery will be fine, maybe spell at FS also ?? Coleman though remains a liability, but I guess gives good value. So to me, Ryan has seen something in our secondary , knows how to fix it and is now doing so. In Rex we trust.
once greene got hurt the running game went down the boards and indy took control. we need another brusing hb to tag team with greene lt is a 3rd down back; so try and get dixon if he on board at 61
Unless there's a steal on Offense (specifically the OL) draft BAP on Defense the rest of the way. The Offense (on paper) has immense talent and depth. It's time to make this Defense great. No.. Amazing. No... BIBLICAL.
