Sounds like a decent idea to me. We are fairly weak at the position as it is. If banging with 2 300lb linemen on every play doesn't man him up, I don't know what will.

He already failed at becoming a pass rushing outside LB.

Rex is a guy who puts his players in a position to make plays. Hopefully he's (cough) right.

He couldn't get any worse. If he fails here I vote we use him to fight other players and get them ejected along with himself.

Does anybody really care about this guy anymore?

Can't we just get this albatross off the team already and be done with it

Because he has no flexibility at all with all those muscles... putting him at DE is the right choice... he doesn't need to be flexible there.

As some columnist said, signing Taylor insured Gholston will never once move his ass off the bench this year. They can say he is doing this or doing that or whatever and it really doesn't matter. Pretend he was traded, you will feel better.

Sorry guys, can't buy into the enthusiasm...the guy sucks donkey balls, got no fire and no heart. It doesn't matter where you put him on the field, at the end of the day, he will fail.

I honestly believe Gholston could surprise people and turn into a decent DE. Let's face it, he isn't the smartest person in the world and now through playing DE he doesn't have to think as much.

    Hopefully this works out

Hey I don't blame him. I think he should go to the WWE/WWF. He can be known as 'V The Buster'

It's good the Jets are in a position to have patience with Ghost.

If this was a losing team, Ghost would be gone already.

I agree with this. The guy's biggest problem is his brain. We know he's strong and we know he has good straight-line speed. I saw him out of position way too many times. This could be a good role for him.

Too much guaranteed money and you'd better believe that's the ONLY reason why the Ghost is still on the Roster. I just don't see Woody signing off on that much dead cash. Like the article said, if the Ghost fcks this up too? He's gotta walk the plank contract or not.

    i thought we sued him?

  19. This is clearly a last ditch effort. I believe if he doesn't show anything in TC at the new position..he will be shown the door.

I think he has some skills to play some 3-4 DE. Straight line power and speed can be an asset in a Rex Ryan scheme. W/ that said..he better show some killer instinct or his career is likely over.

This is what it comes down to? The ghost is a lost cause. If he bulked up he may become a below average DE, which is better then an absolutely useless pass rushing OLB. I remember last year Rex put him in at NT for some plays and he actually did decent. The bitch has incredible strength so whatever why not.
