I never bought into the crap that drafting players is the ONLY way to win as opposed to trading for them.
I know everyone will scream "REDSKINS" as an example of my opinion being wrong but to me it's not because teams traded picks for or drafted players, it's the team as a whole, including the FO/CS that wins. You have to create a winning atmosphere. You have to have the right mix of veteran talent and young studs. You have to have a strong CS who knows how to bring out the best in those players.
The teams that support the argument against my opinion didn't have all these ingredients that's why they failed. They didn't fail because they didn't draft the majority of starting talent.
Talent is talent no matter where it comes from. You just have to know how to bring that talent out and handle the personalities of these players, which i firmly believe Rex can.

The winning business model in the NFL is getting great play from the QB position. Plenty of teams try the conservative approach of relying on the draft and shying away from splashy moves and they remain mediocre. Look at the Vikings. They were an average team, brought in Favre and became a powerhouse. The Giants were average in 2007 before Eli took off his diapers and started playing like a real QB. We looked unstoppable in 2008 before Favre broke down. Take Manning off the Colts and they're an 8-8 team at best. If the Jets get quality play from Sanchez this year they'll pose a threat for another serious playoff run.

It exudes the Rex Ryan personality to take risks and aggressively acquire talent.

The pats never signed Moss or Thomas. The Colts never traded Faulk to get anyone. The Phins never signed Culpepper or Marshall.

This guy's a douchebag. I guess teams should never trade because you can't win if you trade for talent. What a schmuck. God I hope we win the SB. Not only for the privilege of being the World Champions, but to be able to watch all these naysayers have to get down on their knees and suck it.

I think the winning business model has always been the coach. And we have a great coach.

    Well played.

I'm not sure how the Saints FA stacking over the last few years slipped my mind. Perfect example.

I can't believe he is comparing the Dolphins with the Steelers, Pats and Colts .... on any level. What a joke.
